We will be joined with Principal Christie Stamper of Buckhorn High School and Principal Merlene Lewis of Leslie County High School to discuss what is new at their schools to begin the school year. Join Phil Neace this Wednesday on Talk Back as many in our area are getting ready to go Back To School! We will be joined with Principal Cathy Patrick of Hazard High School and Principals Dr. Michelle Ritchie and Kevin Campbell of Perry County Central High School to discuss what is new at their schools to begin the school year. We would love your phone calls and comments on Facebook Live to ask questions and give suggestions on this first of two discussions on Back to School readiness. Next week, we will interview the principals of Buckhorn and Leslie County High.

Join Phil Neace this Wednesday on Talk Back as we will be discussing upcoming plans to develop a solar energy "farm" on reclaimed coal mining properties, specifically the Starfire Coal property. Some people are excited about clean, solar energy benefitting people of our area. Some are opposed to these efforts. We welcome both points of view in our on the air discussion.

Local high school sports will be starting with the beginning of the school year, UK and SEC athletics are on many minds year round and pro sports always gets friendly arguments started. Sports Talk Radio, will be coming to WSGS soon, with hosts John Napier and DJ Hoskins bringing a humorous spin to the discussions about it. It was wonderful to be nostalgic about MC Napier High and Dilce Combs High School as well as inform everyone about tonight's 30th Anniversary Celebration at Perry County Central HS being created from the two schools consolidation.
