As youâre watching the show, I want everyone to remember something: this is real life.
Itâs real life for law enforcement, itâs real life for the suspects, and there are real-life consequences to every action and every decision. I know itâs also a wonderful source of entertainmentâI love watching law enforcement too! But there are always things happening in those moments that may not get shown or explained on TV.
As a supervisor, I will always trust my guysâ instincts, training, and knowledge. We do us. Our number one goal is for everybody to go home safe.
After a busy weekend and a late, late night, I was blessed with the opportunity to wake up again this morningâand I was reminded that His mercies were renewed once again.
âThey are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.â
Lamentations 3:23 KJV
As I drove to church this morning, I thanked the good Lord for keeping everyone safe this weekend. And when I say everyone, I mean everyoneâeven the âbad guys,â as Callan likes to call them. đ
I also prayed, âLord, give me something to help me get through this week ahead.â
About 31 minutes into church this morning, the men came up and sang âVictory in Jesus.â
ManâŚthat was it.
Sometimes weâre looking for one big victory when we need to start thanking God for the small victories every single day. Waking up. Making it home. Keeping everyone safe. Another opportunity to be a better husband, father, leader, friend, and Christian than I was yesterday.
Brother Fred has been preaching for several weeks about becoming a better husband, and it has been a great lesson for me. My wife is my crown of jewels, and she deserves the best version of meânot just when itâs easy, but every single day. I donât have it all figured out, but Iâm going to keep trying to be a better husband, father, leader, friend, and Christian.
This week, Iâm going to remind myself:
There is Victory in Jesusâeven in the small victories.
Thank you, Lord, for another morning, renewed mercies, another chance to get it right, and for keeping us all safe.
Great is Thy faithfulness. đ
