A broad area of low pressure could form over the Bay of Campeche
late this week. Conditions are not expected to be favorable for
significant development, and the system should move inland over
eastern Mexico late this weekend.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...near 0 percent.
* Formation chance through 7 days...low...10 percent.

I'm not going to waste a lot of time on fish storms this year, but I would be remiss to not share the 1st of the season! Tropical Storm Amanda has formed way out in the Pacific. She could reach Cat 1 status tomorrow before she starts to deteriorate over the cold water. We'll be watching.

Now these types of records are the ones I like to see! Near record cool temps and very low humidity today and tomorrow. Chance of rain Friday as June tries to start acting like June with increasing temps and humidity.

We have a couple small cells slowly working this way. Not looking like much in the city right now.

The Gulf is currently dominated by a large, broad, area of low pressure that's producing sct'd rain and storms. This used to be a front that is now sitting over the warm waters of the Gulf. Though none of the models are picking up on anything developing here just yet, this would be the place and the method for tropical system development in the month of June. There is nothing to worry about right now. The system is forecast to generally drift north over time. We'll be watching.
