..GABRIELLE STRUGGLING OVER THE CENTRAL ATLANTIC... As of 5:00 AM AST Thu Sep 18 the center of Gabrielle was located near 20.0, -50.3 with movement WNW at 15 mph. The minimum central pressure was 1004 mb with maximum sustained winds of about 50 mph.

Tropical Storm Gabrielle is forecast to become a hurricane this weekend. Computer models turn this system to the north then northeast next week and it does not look to be a threat to the US.

The overnight NHC map is getting busier… the 90% red area we have been tracking shouldn't be an issue. That should develop quickly enough to find a north escape route.

The new 20% area looks to stay weaker longer which could let it drift more west. Models don’t do much with it right now.

We'll be watching.

We're still here, not ignoring anything. There's just nothing happening. The 1 storm on the horizon is likely to have no impact on the US. This is the quietest hurricane season in 31 years. Setting the stage for a warmer than normal fall and winter which will fuel wild and extreme storms to pop up

PEAK OF HURRICANE SEASON IS TODAY. Amazingly, there are no active Atlantic storms to track at the peak...only the 9th time since 1950. There are still 81 days left remaining until November 30th, the “official” end. Continue to remain alert and updated, powerful hurricanes can still occur in the weeks ahead.
