📣 The Bell to Bell, No Cell Act is a statewide law that starts this school year (2025–2026).

🚫 What You Need to Know:
➜No personal electronic devices, including cell phones, tablets, smartwatches, laptops, earbuds, or game consoles, may be used from the first bell of the day until the last.
➜Devices must be turned off and stored—in lockers, backpacks, or vehicles—for the entire school day.
➜Districts will set specific policies and procedures, including guidelines for:
➧School-issued devices for learning
➧Medical, IEP, extracurricular, and emergency exceptions

Districts must submit their cell-phone policies by August 15, 2025, and post them online before the new school year begins.

✅ What Students & Parents Should Do:
⭐️ Start preparing now—practice keeping devices off and tucked away during school hours.
⭐️ Check your local district’s website for the finalized policy.
⭐️ Reach out to your school with any questions about how this impacts your student’s day.

The goal is to create a focused, distraction-free learning environment all day. Let’s help our students stay engaged and ready from the first bell to the last! 💡📚

🚔 A Message from the Helena-West Helena Police Department 🚔
Driving High or Drunk = DWI

As we head into the holiday weekend, the Helena-West Helena Police Department wants to remind everyone:

Whether it's alcohol, ma*****na, or any other substance—if it impairs your ability to drive, it's a DWI.
And from July 3rd through July 5th, 2025, there will be increased police presence throughout the city to help keep our roads safe.

👮‍♂️ Expect more patrols
👁️‍🗨️ Sobriety checkpoints
🚨 Zero tolerance for impaired driving

Driving under the influence is illegal, dangerous, and potentially deadly. Don’t risk your life—or someone else’s.

✅ Designate a sober driver
✅ Use a rideshare or taxi
✅ Call a friend or family member

Let’s all do our part to keep Helena-West Helena safe this Independence Day.

Drive Sober. Drive Safe. We’ll Be Watching.

🚨 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT – HELENA DAY CANCELED 🚨
From the Helena-West Helena Police Department

Due to the recent increase in violence in our community, Helena Day, scheduled for July 5, has been CANCELED. This decision was made in the interest of public safety, which remains our top priority.

Effective immediately, all events held on city-owned property must receive proper approval from the City Council. This requirement is in place to ensure safety, order, and accountability at all public gatherings.

We understand this news may be disappointing, but the safety of our residents, families, and visitors comes first. We appreciate your support and cooperation as we work to protect and serve the Helena-West Helena community.

Chief Sanders and the Helena-West Helena Police Department wants to remind everyone that safety comes first this Independence Day weekend.

👮‍♂️ Expect to see an increased presence of local and state law enforcement on the roads starting Friday, July 4th through Sunday, July 6th. Officers will be conducting traffic stops and enforcing DUI, seatbelt, and speed laws to help keep our community safe.

🎆 Whether you're heading to a fireworks show, a cookout, or just driving across town, please drive responsibly. Don’t drink and drive, obey all traffic laws, and always wear your seatbelt.

Let’s work together to make this a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend for everyone.
