HELENA - Mayor Joseph Whitfield presided over his first HWH City Council meeting Tuesday, conducting an orderly meeting, with the city approving the purchase for $19,000 of body armor for police and approving signature authority for Whitfield for certain cify documents, checks, and grants. 🚧 PUBLIC MEETING ANNOUNCEMENT 🚧

An open house, in-person public involvement meeting will be held Thursday, November 6, 2025, from 4:30–6:30 PM at Phillips Community College – Hendrix Fine Arts Center (Community Room) in Helena-West Helena.

Representatives from ARDOT and MDOT will be present to discuss the proposed rehabilitation of the Highway 49 Mississippi River Bridge.

This project is an important investment in safety, infrastructure, and regional connection between Arkansas and Mississippi.
