Almost four years after the Montana State Hospital lost a key federal certification – and access to funding that went along with it – state leaders say they’ve officially submitted a request to get that status back.

The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services gave lawmakers updates on MSH and rural health funding during an interim committee meeting Tuesday.

The Montana Supreme Court has issued its final ruling in the professional conduct case against Austin Knudsen, Montana Attorney General – dismissing the complaint without taking any further disciplinary action against him.

In a majority opinion, Chief Justice Cory Swanson said Knudsen had violated some of the ethical rules that govern attorneys’ conduct, but that the disciplinary proceedings against him had also violated his due process rights.
