After Tuesday’s primary elections, the general election fields are set in Montana’s races for U.S. Senate and the western and eastern congressional districts. Candidates are now turning their attention away from difference within their parties and starting to bring out their messages against the other party.

Montana is joining a federal program aimed at improving outcomes in the state’s foster care system.

On Wednesday, Governor Greg Gianforte signed onto the “A Home for Every Child” initiative, which sets a goal of a 1-to-1 ratio: one available foster home placement for every child who enters foster care. Montana's ratio is currently 0.57 to 1.
