Winning.....it isn’t always about luck, or money, or even being the last one holding a dollar bill.

The truth is, I had a quiet little wish in my heart as we played Left-Right-Center at Dalida Jaafar’s Rotary farewell party: Wouldn’t it be wonderful if she won? And second best? If I won, I could give it to her. I honestly believe everyone there was wishing the same wish.

Well, that’s exactly what happened. To my suprise, I won the pot and couldn't wait to give the stack of money to Dalida.
But the real plot twist? Dalida didn’t keep it either.
She gave it all to the Rotary Club.

That’s Dalida for you.

A perfect example of "Winning with People..."
John Maxwell wrote a whole book about it, and in it John tells us different questions we must ask ourselves such as:
Readiness: Are we prepared for relationships?
Connection: Are we willing to focus on others?
Trust: Can we build mutual trust?
Investment: Are we willing to invest in others?
Synergy: Can we create a win-win relationship?

Dalida is beautiful inside and out. She is living proof that real leadership is less about titles and more about heart. She moved to a small town, not knowing a soul, but chose to show up. To serve. To invest in people. And last night, those same people showed up for her to pour love right back on her. There were hugs. Tears. Stories. Laughter. And a room full of people who were better simply because she had been part of their lives.

That’s legacy.
That’s leadership.
And that’s what winning really looks like.

About six years ago, I was working in my office when the phone rang. Dalida had just moved to town and was calling to say she was also part of the John Maxwell Team and was excited to find me. I didn’t know it yet, but I was about to meet one of the most giving, wise, and radiant women I’ve ever known.

We became coaching partners. We encouraged each other. And we’ve been cheering each other on ever since. Oh, BTW, she is an amazing coach!

Now, she’s heading back to her family in Lebanon, getting married, and starting a new chapter in Dubai. And yes, it’s hard to see her go.
But last night proved something:
We all walked away winners—because we know her.
The real win is not about what we take home.
It’s about what we give away.
Our love. Our time. Our presence. Our encouragement.
That’s how we win with people.
That’s how we live a life of signifigance.
And that exactally what makes our friend Dalida so special. 🦋❤🦋

This one lone beautiful poppy showed up in the middle of my pinklady patch—and it made me pause in gratitude. he reminded me:
