Renovations are needed to turn the former church into a center that will honor the area's roots, but when completed, Friends of Jessenland Vice-President Wendy Driscoll said they want the center to be “a living and breathing entity” and active part of the community.

A celebration of this area's Irish roots was held last weekend at the Jessenland Historical and Cultural Center, and a main attraction was a playing of the Jessenland Documentary, which focused on the Irish immigration and founding of Jessenland.

“The story of every community will give people who live there a way into their own identity, and this community has a very powerful story and very important centering story to remember,” former Minnesota Historical Society Press editor Ann Regan said.

HELP NEEDED!

The Le Sueur Braves will be hosting a playoff game against Lonsdale at Bruce Frank Field TONIGHT at 7:30 pm.

Unfortunately, Editor Rachel Miller experienced a medical issue on Wednesday and will not be able to attend the game tonight. If there is anyone who would be able to assist with taking photos, it would be greatly appreciated. The winner of tonight's game will be advancing to the state tournament.
