Deerfield Episcopal Retirement Community has announced an almost $400 million expansion that will add nearly 200 units to its south Asheville location and also provide more jobs in Buncombe County.

The nearly $400 million project will add 165 new Independent Living Units; 10 Assisted Living, 12 Memory Care, and 12 Skilled Nursing units

Several Chimney Rock-based businesses have found success selling items at Tryon International Equestrian Center and Resort. The center and resort opened its doors to displaced retailers with the creation of WNC Main Street inside its International Pavilion after Hurricane Helene. The special holiday shopping event has become a fixture.
