There are moments in a community's history that deserve more than a simple "thank you."
Today is one of those moments.
Long before HISDtv ever existed, KPAN had already been a trusted partner of Hereford ISD for decades. Through classrooms, campuses, and countless Friday nights, they helped tell the story of our students, our schools, and our community. They celebrated our victories, shared our challenges, and became a familiar voice for generations of Whiteface fans.
When HISDtv launched its very first "official" livestream on August 28, 2020, during one of the most uncertain times our schools and communities had ever faced, we weren't beginning a new relationship. We were beginning a new chapter in one that already meant so much to Hereford.
None of us knew then that what started with a simple conversation and a willingness to work together would grow into something so much bigger.
For the past six years, we've had the privilege of working alongside Chip, Lisa, Lane, Brad, Tom, Brenda, Kris, Ryan, James, and so many others to bring Whiteface athletics and school events into homes across Hereford and beyond. What began as a partnership grew into countless Tuesday nights, Friday nights under the lights, Saturdays on the road, playoff runs, championships, heartbreaking losses, unforgettable victories, and memories that will live on for generations.
When we look back, we don't just remember the games.
We remember the miles traveled together, the late nights packing up equipment, the laughter between broadcasts, the excitement before kickoff, the silence after a tough loss, and the joy of celebrating another Whiteface victory.
Most importantly, we remember the people.
KPAN never had to say yes when HISDtv came along. But they did. They welcomed us, trusted us, and believed that together we could serve our community in a way neither of us could have accomplished alone.
HISDtv may have provided the cameras, but KPAN provided the voices that generations of Hereford families had grown up listening to. Together, we found a way to blend tradition with new technology while staying true to one shared purpose: serving Hereford.
During a time when families couldn't always be in the stands, we worked together to make sure they never missed a moment. Grandparents watched from home. Alumni stayed connected from across the country. Families who couldn't travel still got to cheer on their Whitefaces. Together, we helped keep our community connected.
What began as a partnership between a hometown radio station and a school district became something neither of us expected. It became a tradition. Every season, every broadcast, every familiar voice reminded us that this community is at its best when we work together.
The games will eventually become memories.
But the voices that told those stories, and the people behind them, will always be part of Hereford's story.
As one chapter in Hereford broadcasting comes to a close, we simply want to say thank you.
Thank you for believing in this partnership.
Thank you for your friendship.
Thank you for your commitment to Hereford.
And thank you for allowing HISDtv to share this incredible journey with you.
