I am all about celebrating personality, confidence, and the joy of being right where you are, as well as how far you've come. So my senior sessions are always going to be playful, creative, and uniquely you. Pink disco balls, fluffy rug, and all the sassy energy you could ever ask for, set us up for the perfect party in the studio. Oh my goodness, I just love my sweet seniors.🩷

Most photographers relish a season of mini sessions in the fall. But if you know me, you know I just can't give up that connection for a shorter session.

To be honest, I'm probably never offering a mini session, except for maybe a charity event.

To answer another question I keep getting asked, yes, I'm still doing senior sessions.

Even in late fall, I'm able to make the fading colors, textures, and soft light work with my vision. Senior portraits with fall or winter light just hits different, and that's a good thing.

I'll be photographing the Class of 2026 all year long, like I do with every graduating class, and cherishing my time with each one. ❤

Last for today but certainly not least, Happy Birthday, Lily!🎉

It’s been an absolute honor watching your incredible journey unfold, and capturing so many moments along the way! I’ve had the privilege of working with Lily since before she won her first major pageant, so to say I’m proud just to know her is an understatement.

Lily’s list of pageant accomplishments is jaw-dropping. I can't even remember all the crowns that she has won...Miss Memphis, Miss Tennessee, Miss New York United States, Miss Franklin County, MISS UNITED STATES (!!). And I know I am missing at least 5 more👑

Even so, beyond the crown is where Lily truly inspires me. She's a force in STEM and education. She’s worked with NASA (speaking with astronauts in space!), as well as the Department of Homeland Security, and this year, she earned a PhD! Who is this girl?!

She also founded the nonprofit, Art Technically!

And now, Lily is a first-year teacher. I just know she will inspire her students every single day.

Here’s to another year of brilliance, kindness, and impact. Happy Birthday, Lily! And thank you for letting me be part of your story. 💫📷

🎉🎂 Big birthday shoutout to the one and only Cara, the stunning, if unofficial, "face" of Heather Strickland Photography for all these years, and an all-around rockstar! 📸💥

Y’all, I could not have picked a better person to be the cover for my brand. Cara is beautiful inside and out, strong, driven, and was recently promoted to Captain in the U.S. Army! 🇺🇸💪 I mean… can we all take a moment?! 👏👏👏

She embodies everything I hope to see in the next generation: courage, perseverance, dedication, and unstoppable determination. She’s the kind of person who doesn’t just talk about big dreams, she chases them down and makes them happen.

Cara, you amaze me, and I’m so lucky to have you as part of this journey. I hope you get to eat some cake and celebrate like the boss you are! 🎉💃💚

Back in January, I had the privilege of photographing Jason for a headshot session. And it turned into so much more than just a few photos.

At the end of my day today, I came back to the most thoughtful review left from Jason, and I honestly feel so honored. As a photographer, I’m not just here to click a button. I’m here to create a space where people feel seen, celebrated, and confident in their own skin. That’s what my sessions feel like to me. Genuine connection, trust, and a little magic.

Every time someone steps in front of my camera, I don’t take it lightly. I know how vulnerable it can be. And when someone tells me they felt good (not just looked good) I know I’ve done my job.

Thank you Jason, for trusting me and letting me capture this moment in your story. It truly means the world to me.

Sweet, confident, and always camera-ready, Kim is one of my longtime favorite clients. As a successful property manager and total boss lady, she came in for updated professional headshots to reflect her current look. I’ve had the honor of photographing her over the years, and while I know she's a powerhouse in her field, I’m still wrapping my head around the fact that she’s also a grandma now!
