💔 15 Years Ago…

Fifteen years ago, a girl left for a Halloween dance with her friends — laughing, excited, and completely unaware that her life was about to change forever.

As she exited the freeway and waited four cars back at a red light, everything went black in an instant. There was a flash of light… and then chaos. She was violently thrown into her steering wheel — her head slamming forward with such force that it would change everything.

That night took more than just a car.
It stole memories, moments, and a piece of who she once was. It took away her ability to read and comprehend easily, and along with it, her Nursing School degree — the dream she had worked so hard for.

The injuries were devastating: a severe head injury, a damaged shoulder that required surgery, and a neck that still causes daily pain — even 15 years later, still waiting for surgery.

That scared young girl thought her car was going to explode from the impact, so she climbed out through the sunroof to escape. Only later, in the hospital, did she learn what had really happened…

A drunk woman — already drinking in the car, and not for the first time — had slammed into the line of cars at full speed.

That night could have taken my life. But by the grace of my loving Heavenly Father, I’m still here. Because of Him, I got the chance to meet Ty, build a beautiful life, and become the woman I am today.

Fifteen years may seem like a long time — but for that young girl, it still feels like yesterday. You never forget the moment that changes your entire life.

As Halloween approaches, please…
Don’t drink and drive.
Don’t take someone’s future — or their family — away in a single careless choice.
