Had a good time in Madison, IN at the KCBS BBQ contest. Got to walk the stage on brisket. That’s been our toughest category so felt good to get that call. Congrats to our BBQ friends Paul and Lynn with on the Grand Championship. Couldn’t happen to better people. Lynn promises to dance for us next time.

Set up and ready to go for the first comp of the season for us. is a great event and very well organized. Just need the awful weather for tomorrow to change its mind and leave us alone. Either way, we’ll have our offset smoker and drum ready roll. Let’s throw smoke!

Waited 27 weeks for this custom bad boy to arrive and I couldn’t be more excited. It’s built like a tank. Half inch steel on the firebox and quarter inch steel elsewhere. 1000 pounds of cooking meanness. Can’t wait to use it on the 2025 competition BBQ trail. knocked it out of the park. Had to get pretty creative to get it unloaded as you can see from the photos.

Stepped outside of our BBQ competition bubble last Saturday and competed in a chili competition at the Marion, IL Elks. We made the finals! That’s all I know. I’ve had a difficult time getting or seeing the results from the organizers. Over 1000 armbands were sold to enter and try all the team’s chili. We ran out very early. It was college football tailgate themed. Go Hawgs!

Had a fun time this past weekend at the KCBS sanctioned BBQ contest. In my opinion, they set us up in the most scenic location they had overlooking the Ohio River. What a view! It was a very well ran and organized event. We finished middle of the pack and as high as 12th in pork. Congrats to on the Grand and on the Reserve Grand. We’re coming for ya next year! We appreciate for the brisket and for the pork and for the chicken.

Had a good time at the Smokin’ on Main KCBS BBQ contest this weekend. Not sure what happened as the judges didn’t like our meats. It was the same cooks that landed us 4 top 10s in our last competition and we didn’t change anything. I guess that’s competition BBQ for ya. Congrats to Janky Leg BBQ on the Grand and on the Reserve Grand. Hope to compete with you again soon.
