Voy a volver a compartir esta publicación porque he estado viendo demasiados comentarios donde están perfilando a los mexicanos y haciendo comentarios racistas e innecesarios sobre este evento.

Aparentemente va a haber un evento hispano aquí en el High Desert, con música en vivo y entretenimiento, y septiembre es un mes patriótico para México. Y, siendo honestos, si están trayendo algo así al High Desert, quizás saben perfectamente dónde está el dinero. 😂 Los mexicanos gastamos. Nos gusta nuestra comida, nuestra música, nuestra cultura, y cuando hay algo que nos gusta, ahí estamos apoyando.

Entonces, ¿por qué tanto perfilamiento? ¿Por qué tanta negatividad? ¿Por qué el “los mexicanos esto” y “los mexicanos aquello”?

Estamos en el siglo XXI y todavía seguimos con esta pi**he mi**da. ¿Por qué?

Si no te gusta el evento, no tienes que asistir. Si no estás de acuerdo con quienes lo están organizando, critica a los organizadores. Pero, ¿por qué atacar a toda una nacionalidad?

¿No podemos simplemente llevarnos bien con nuestros vecinos y dejar que la gente disfrute de su cultura?

Y honestamente, algunos de ustedes que siguen haciendo estos comentarios racistas son parte de la razón por la que este mundo sigue tan dividido. No tienes que amar la música mexicana. No tienes que asistir al evento. Pero sí puedes respetar a las personas que disfrutan de ella.

Yo soy mexicana y siempre voy a estar orgullosa de serlo. Pero también voy a defender a cualquier persona que esté siendo injustamente perfilada o discriminada, sin importar su raza o nacionalidad.

Así que dejen que la gente celebre. Dejen que suene la música. Dejen que los negocios hagan dinero. Dejen que la gente disfrute.

No todo tiene que convertirse en una pi**he guerra. Todos podemos convivir.

I’m going to repost this because I’ve been seeing way too many comments profiling Mexicans and making unnecessary racial remarks about this event.

Apparently, there’s going to be a Hispanic event here in the High Desert with live music and entertainment, and September is a patriotic month for Mexico. Honestly, if they’re bringing something like this to the High Desert, maybe they know exactly where the money is. 😂 Mexicans spend money. We love our food, our music, our culture, and when there’s something we enjoy, we show up and support it.

So why all the profiling? Why all the negativity? Why the “Mexicans this” and “Mexicans that”?

We’re in the 21st century and we’re still doing this bu****it. Why?

If you don’t like the event, you don’t have to attend. If you disagree with the people organizing it, criticize the organizers. But why attack an entire nationality?

Can’t we just get along with our neighbors and let people enjoy their culture?

And honestly, some of you who keep making these racist comments are part of the reason this world continues to be so divided. You don’t have to love Mexican music. You don’t have to attend the event. But you can respect the people who do.

I’m Mexican, and I’ll always be proud of that. But I’ll also defend anyone being unfairly profiled or discriminated against, regardless of their race or nationality.

So let people celebrate. Let the music play. Let the businesses make money. Let people enjoy themselves.

Not everything has to turn into a damn war. We can all coexist.

HESPERIA, TENEMOS QUE HABLAR.

¿Por qué tenemos que pagar un permiso para estacionar un tráiler o vehículo comercial DENTRO DE NUESTRA PROPIA PROPIEDAD, si no está en la calle, no bloquea la banqueta, no obstruye el tráfico y no molesta a nadie?

Muchos nos mudamos a Hesperia precisamente por los terrenos grandes, por el espacio y por tener una, dos, tres o hasta cuatro acres.

¿Para qué nos sirve tener ese terreno si ahora resulta que tenemos que pagar para poder utilizarlo?

No nos mudamos aquí para después tener que pagarle a alguien más por guardar nuestros propios vehículos o equipo cuando tenemos suficiente espacio en nuestra propia propiedad.

Ya pagamos:

¿Hipoteca? Sí.
¿Impuestos de propiedad? Sí.
¿Agua y servicios? Sí.
¿Mantenimiento de nuestra propiedad? Sí.

Entonces pregunto:

¿Por qué la Ciudad sigue buscando nuevas maneras de cobrarnos?

¿Cuándo van a poner más iluminación en nuestras calles?

¿Cuándo van a mejorar las calles que están en malas condiciones?

¿Cuándo vamos a tener más seguridad y más presencia de las autoridades?

¿Cuándo vamos a tener una mejor respuesta a las emergencias?

Hay accidentes constantemente y hay áreas que necesitan atención.

Y aquí viene otra pregunta que considero muy importante:

¿LAS MISMAS REGLAS Y LOS MISMOS CARGOS SE APLICAN A LOS EMPLEADOS DE LA CIUDAD, DEL CONDADO Y A LOS FUNCIONARIOS QUE VIVEN EN HESPERIA?

Si existen permisos, excepciones o reglas especiales:

¿Quién tiene esos permisos?

¿Quién está pagando?

¿Quién está exento?

¿Y POR QUÉ?

No estoy diciendo que no deban existir reglas razonables.

Estoy diciendo que LAS REGLAS DEBEN SER IGUALES PARA TODOS.

Si una persona tiene suficiente terreno para estacionar su tráiler dentro de su propiedad, sin bloquear la calle, sin molestar a sus vecinos y sin representar un peligro, entonces:

¿POR QUÉ TIENE QUE PAGAR PARA ESTACIONARLO EN SU PROPIO TERRENO?

La gente se mudó a Hesperia buscando espacio y una mejor oportunidad para vivir y trabajar.

Muchos utilizan sus propiedades para sostener a sus familias y ganarse la vida.

¿Por qué obligarlos a pagar por almacenamiento externo cuando ya tienen el espacio en su propia propiedad?

HESPERIA:

¿Tenemos que empezar a reunir firmas?

¿Tenemos que organizarnos como residentes?

¿Tenemos que empezar a asistir en grupo a las reuniones del Ayuntamiento?

Porque si somos muchos los que pensamos igual, entonces ya es hora de dejar de quejarnos individualmente y EMPEZAR A HABLAR JUNTOS.

Nosotros pagamos para vivir aquí.

Nosotros somos los propietarios.

Nosotros somos los contribuyentes.

Y TENEMOS DERECHO A SER ESCUCHADOS.

HESPERIA, QUEREMOS RESPUESTAS.

HESPERIA, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.
City of Hesperia

Instead of constantly looking for new ways to charge homeowners for petty things, why don’t we start talking about where our money is actually going?

Because I have a question for the City of Hesperia:

When are we going to get better lighting on our streets?

How many more accidents have to happen before something is done?

When are we going to get more law enforcement?

When are we going to address the areas where residents are concerned about emergency response and 911 calls?

I keep hearing about new regulations, new permits, new fees, and new ways to charge residents for using property they already pay for.

But where is that urgency when it comes to basic public safety?

And here’s another question I want answered:

Are city employees and county employees subject to the exact same rules and fees as every other Hesperia homeowner?

If they are, show us.

If there are exemptions, show us.

If everyone is required to obtain permits and pay the same fees, then let’s have complete transparency about how these rules are being enforced.

Because I find it very hard to believe that working families who moved to Hesperia specifically for the acreage and space should now be expected to pay additional money simply to park a big rig safely inside their own property, while we’re still dealing with dark streets, accidents, infrastructure problems, and concerns about emergency response.

We pay our mortgages.

We pay property taxes.

We pay our utility bills.

We maintain our homes.

We contribute to this community.

So before Hesperia keeps finding new ways to take money from homeowners, how about investing in the things residents actually need?

LIGHTS.

SAFETY.

LAW ENFORCEMENT.

BETTER ROADS.

EMERGENCY RESPONSE.

That’s where I want to see our money going.

And if Hesperia believes these new permits and fees are absolutely necessary, then come explain it to the residents.

Don’t just create another rule and expect everyone to quietly pay it.

We’re homeowners. We’re taxpayers. We’re residents of this city.

And we’re allowed to ask where our money is going and why we’re being charged.

So Hesperia, I’m asking:

When are you going to start investing in the people who live here instead of finding another reason to charge them?

Because enough is enough.

🚨 HIGH DESERT, WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR FUNDING OUR PUBLIC SAFETY? 🚨

I was told by a Sheriff that part of the problem is funding.

Okay. Then let’s talk about funding.

If Hesperia doesn’t have enough patrol deputies to adequately cover our community, what about Victorville? Apple Valley? Barstow? Adelanto? Oak Hills? And all of the surrounding areas?

Are we really adequately staffed for the size of the High Desert and the number of people who live here now?

Because this isn’t just about traffic enforcement.

We’re talking about accidents, shootings, drug activity, burglaries, reckless driving and emergency calls happening every single day.

And then there is another serious concern residents have been talking about: 911 response and dispatch delays.

If someone is having a life-threatening emergency, we shouldn’t be sitting there wondering whether help is going to arrive in time.

God forbid something serious ever happens to someone I love. If I had to get them to a hospital myself because help wasn’t coming fast enough, I’d do what I had to do to save their life. That’s how scared people are becoming about whether help will arrive when they need it.

And before anyone gets angry with the deputies or dispatchers, I’m NOT blaming the people working the jobs.

I’m asking the people who control the funding:

WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR MAKING SURE THESE DEPARTMENTS HAVE ENOUGH PEOPLE, EQUIPMENT AND RESOURCES TO PROTECT THIS COMMUNITY?

Because if the answer is “there isn’t enough funding,” then tell us:

Where does the funding come from?

Who controls it?

How much is being allocated?

How much more is needed?

And what is the plan to keep up with the growth of the High Desert?

Our community has grown tremendously. We cannot keep operating like we’re the same population we were 10, 20 or 30 years ago.

This isn’t about politics.

This is about PUBLIC SAFETY.

We need answers.

We need transparency.

And most importantly, we need a plan.

Because waiting until another person dies, another family is devastated, or another emergency response fails is NOT a plan.

HIGH DESERT, WE DESERVE BETTER.

So I’m asking our city leaders, county officials and law enforcement leadership:

WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO ABOUT IT?
