I recently witnessed a disturbing incident at the McDonald's location on Hwy 18 in Apple Valley. A lady ahead of me in line asked the worker if they accept EBT and was informed that they do. However, when she presented her EBT card, it was not approved. After completing my own transaction, I observed the lady calling the state CalFresh line to verify her balance, which was over $300. Given this experience, I question the validity of McDonald's sign indicating EBT acceptance. What are your thoughts, citizens? I believe this may constitute false advertising. Their phone number is available. If you concur, I suggest calling them to request removal of the EBT sign. The manager's statement that EBT acceptance is limited to the homeless as part of a special program appears to be a subjective judgment. How would the lady know if customer was homeless or not?
This Incident took place on July 4th at approximately 7 pm.
