NIGHTHAWK FOOTBALL HAS ROUGH OPENER
As the Night Hawk Football team took their first road trip of the year. Injuries & sickness hit the team in week #1. Injuries occurred in Practice and then a few players were banged up during the game this past Saturday.
#4 Linton HMB came in ranked in state and a bunch of returning starters including their starting qb, Junior, Justin Bosch. The Lions won the coin toss and elected to recieve and used the first drive to put up a quick 6. with just 10:41 left in the 1st quarter, Senior Running back Levi Keeney took it to the house from 42 yards out for the opening Touchdown. Bosch connected with Isaac Silvernagel for the 2pt conversion making it 8-0 early.At the 5 minute mark, Bosch rumbled in from 15 yards out and then connected with Mason Haseleu for the 2pt to make it 16-0 early. The Night HAwks struggled to run the football in the first half with Freshman and Sophomore running backs getting their first starts. Gavin Parnow started at QB for the Night Hawks. with Time running out in the first quarter, Bosch ran it in from 51 yards out and the 2pt play failed making it 22-0 after the first quarter. the 2nd quarter was also dominated by the Lions, as the Lions scored at the 9:07 mark in the 2nd qtr with Olhauser scoring from 54 yards out. Bosch connected again with Keeney for the conversion. 2 minutes later, the Hawks got pinned deep and on 4th down had a snap go over the head of Parnow into the endzone for a safety. On the next offensive play, the Lions returned the free kick from the 20 yard line and returned the Kick 55 yards making it 38-0. Keeney added another 41 yard TD run at the 4:44 mark in the 3rd with Huber adding the 2pt play to make it 46-0 in favor of the Lions. The Lions capped off the night in the 4th quarter with a 4 yard TD run from Mossett to end the scoring for the Lions putting the Final score at 52-0.
The Hawks struggled on the ground all night against a veteran defensive line & linebackers for the Lions. Hettinger Scranton had a total of 137 Total yards on the night, all on the ground. Gavin Parnow led the Hawks with 36 Rushing yards. Micah Kilzer added 21 yards, Cyrus Roseland 18 yds, Logan Mausehund added 16 before leaving the game with an injury. Linton HMB ended the night with 383 rushing yards and 40 passing for a total of 423 yards on the night. Rushing leaders for Linton HMB - Keeney 114 yds, Olhauser 89, Bosch 83.

Gavin Parnow had 1 interception for the Hawks.
