Remember the awesome Chi One’s jacket I got last month? Well, I finally found the photo I was looking for! This jacket belonged to a guy named “Lucky” who worked at Grand Spaulding Dodge. He also raced a Dodge Dart with a slant six and won his fair share of trophies. Here is an awesome pic of that Dart racing indoors at the Chicago Amphitheater, how cool is that! If you look in the window behind the drivers door, you’ll see a bunch of “hot rod” decals. That was actually on a piece of clear plastic that he would only put in the window when drag racing. He didn’t want to have them on there while daily driving seeing if might call too much attention by the police, which is pretty smart!

Currently sitting at Tulsa Airport waiting on my flight back to Chicago, figured I’d share a few cool photos from the weekend. The Nitro Chaos awards banquet was a blast, we took 8th place overall and best appearing car! We ended up checking out a pretty awesome collection of cars too, it was jam packed full of classic Vettes and dragsters! The old school dragster on the trailer is a friend of ours, he will be racing it this summer at an event we will also be at, can’t wait to see that smoke the tires and blast down the track! That being said, I’m ready to get home and relax for a few days!

Talk about awesome! I got Kyle’s custom Ross pistons back from Line2Line Coatings today. I must say, their customer service and turnaround time are top notch! Once I get the engine block and rotating assembly back from the machine shop, I’m going to do a video on what the coating is and how it works. Until then, stay tuned and stay cool!

Now this should be fun! Picked this up today to setup in Mad Dog Kenny’s garage for when we have downtime while working on Kyle’s engine. This Auto World set is the Showroom Shootout that includes two legendary Chevy dealers, Yenko and Nickey! I might have to get a Mr. Norm’s Dodge to even the playing field! Stay tuned, this should be a blast!

Here are some cool pics from the corner of Grand and Spaulding in Chicago, IL! Yep, Mr. Norm’s Grand Spaulding Dodge. These were taken when the 70 Challenger funny car had just been completed. If you look closely, you can see a brand new T/A Challenger on the showroom floor. Talk about cool, nothing like a dealership with a lot of muscle on the lot and a new funny car sitting outside!

Check this out! As I wait for the machine shop to get done with Kyle’s engine block and rotating assembly, I’ve been busy setting up shop at Mad Dog Kenny’s garage. He recently remodeled it and added quite the heating setup! This will give us a great place to build that wicked 433” Pontiac mill going in the 1968 big green machine GTO! As soon as we get everything back from the machine shop, there will be a lot of content on the way. Big thanks to Kenny for making this happen! Until then, stay tuned and stay cool!

Check these out! I’m starting to get more parts in for Kyle’s GTO and I found a set of wheels that will look great! His GTO is a good mix of old school and modern technology and I want to keep it that way. These wheels meet that criteria! They are from Rev Wheels and offer a vintage look, but are one piece cast aluminum instead of stamped steel. These are pretty darn cool and will look great on the big green machine GTO! A couple years ago I built a pretty rowdy 388” SBC stroker for my friend Todd’s gorgeous Camaro Z/28 that we called project “Fast Times”. Well, that car is soon returning to the channel to get a complete Holley Sniper 2 EFI kit! Todd loves to go cruising in his Camaro and the Holley Sniper 2 kit will compliment that very well! I’ll be making a “how to” video series on this project. Until then, stay tuned and stay cool!

You can say today was my “Lucky”day! The first two photos show a young Mr. Norm holding a Chi-One’s racing jacket that was owned by the guy in the next photo, whose name was Lucky. Lucky worked at Grand Spaulding Dodge and also drag raced his 1963 Dodge Dart that was powered by a 170 cubic inch slant six. Lucky raced all over the Chicagoland area including the indoor drags held at the Ampitheatre, which I am working on getting photos of. Anyway, he won many many trophies with his 63 Dodge and proudly represented Grand Spaulding Dodge. How am I lucky? Well, the jacket you see in those photos is now part of my collection! Once I get the photos of Lucky racing his 63 Dodge indoors, I’ll be posting them! Stay tuned, and stay cool!
