Systems of belief can be so helpful and beneficial in our lives.

But what if I told you that sometimes they can actually unintentionally get in the way of your relationship with God?

What we believe shapes us in life. We’ve known this for years in the mental health and spiritual health communities. But we some times only think about that in terms of what we believe about ourselves.

However, it is important that we don’t let what we believe about God hinder us from coming to Him fully.

He wants all of us, He wants us to be fully truthful with Him about everything. Not just in the way a child shamefully confesses to their parent, but also in a fully trusting, safe, vulnerable way. The way a child should feel safe to express their fears, their worries, their doubts and their feelings to their parent.

He is called our Father, because He is the only one who is truly a good parent. The rest of us fall short. But He makes up for that lack.

Today, I pray that God would show himself to you in an intimate and real way.
In our time, Jesus is showing up to people in dreams and visions all over the world. Muslims, Hindu’s and ppl from all religions are encountering Jesus and starting to follow Him.

I say why not you? Why not now? He is the same in America as He is in the rest of the world.

Ask Him to show up and get ready for a shift.

Share this with a Dad who is going through a tough season.

Happy Father’s Day. Let’s talk about what being a Father truly means in today’s culture. What are we missing? What does God want for us?

He has a fullness of life and experience that is meant to make us into the type of men who can truly have capacity for presence.

This is one of the best interviews I’ve heard about knowing God intimately and what it’s like to follow Him when it’s hard. Please give this a listen if you need some encouragement. I’ll be posting more of my content in a couple of weeks, but I wanted to share some of the other amazing resources that you maybe haven’t heard of.

It’s so easy to choose comfort.
The quick relief. The familiar excuse. The warm embrace of habits and choices that feel good for a moment but slowly fade into the background of our lives.
Years from now, most of those moments won’t even be remembered.
Growth is different.
Growth asks us to sit with discomfort, face what we’d rather avoid, and keep moving forward anyway.
The truth is, one moment of courage can leave a deeper mark on your life than a hundred moments of comfort.
When you look back on your story someday, I hope you find memories that remind you of who you became—not just what made you comfortable.

Trauma, could be what’s holding your relationships back.

Just throwing this back out there, because I realized I previously posted the wrong version!

Often times when you start to break into new areas of freedom on your healing journey, your eyes will finally be opened to your old toxic patterns and the toxic patterns of the people around you.

As you break free of those patterns, not everyone will be ready to go with you out of the wilderness and into the promise land.

To some, the old painful patterns feel safer still. It feels more comforting to return to self protection, codependency, self medication, or fill in the blank of their favorite coping mechanisms.

But if you’re getting free, just remember; this does not reflect on your journey. This is their journey. Do what you can to help, warn, and guide in love. But if there isn’t openness, if the person is entering their own wilderness season; sometimes the most loving thing to do is just release them into God’s hands.

It doesn’t mean you give up, it just means you’re shifting out of the natural and into the realm of prayer.

So often, what we call healing in mental health circles would be more accurately described as relief.

We have our data that is very subjective and difficult to replicate that claims, “this method is scientific”. But we need to be honest.

We are not talking about a hard science like biology here.

The way reality or consciousness works is something we need to walk through with extreme caution and discernment as patients.

The models presented to you in therapy will change your perception and very experience of reality. Hopefully for good. But often it’s just for relief.

Relief is about decreasing the symptoms.

Healing should be about finding the root cause of the symptoms and discovering how to heal the whole person and bring renewal to a fractured psyche or soul.

By looking into the intuitive part of the mind, we can unlock rapid healing that the rational mind will take years to understand and most often never fully integrate.

Intuitive Language, like Jesus of Nazareth used, was God’s revelation of what would be lost in western society. He wasn’t just the savior, He was the author and perfecter of being fully human, the way we were created to be.

It is my goal to help make what was happening in History 2000 yrs ago more understandable and reveal how applicable Jesus is in a post-modern, hyper-rational minded culture.
