Do to absolute greed on April 24th. the developer is trying to start the process of having the city annex/rezone this location for 99 homes.
This type of development especially next to the water treatment plant will be detrimental to our community.

How irresponsible are the City of Hickory and their city planning committee. Just 6 months ago the city requested residents and surrounding counties to conserve water due to the low water levels in our lakes and reservoirs.
At the same time the planning committee is approving rezoning requests to medium to large capacity to help with the lack of housing??
Take some time and review the amount of housing the city is trying to expand down Startown Road and Mountain View.
Seems most of these developments are not being developed or built by local companies.
