Big News For Forest School! 📣

We are THRILLED to announce that Earthsong Explorers is officially a registered private school with the state of North Carolina!

What does this mean for our students?

✨Full-Time Enrollment Meets NC Education Requirements✨
Families who choose our full-time program no longer need to homeschool. Your child can receive the same child-led, nature-based, alternative education Earthsong is known for while attending a private school that satisfies North Carolina's educational requirements.

✨Scholarships Accepted✨
Earthsong is now eligible to accept both the Opportunity Scholarship and ESA+ Scholarship programs. Please allow up to two weeks for Earthsong Explorers to appear in the state's list of participating schools.

This is a huge milestone for our school and brings us one step closer to making nature-based education accessible to more families in our community.

We will still offer our part-time homeschool enrichment program.

We explored Lake Hickory today at a public beach access in Alexander County and my kids did not want to leave! Here are the details:

Wittenburg Swim Beach
175 Wildlife Access Road, Bethlehem, NC

Amenities include: swim beach, restrooms, outdoor showers, changing area, concession stand, boat ramp, fishing pier, picnic shelters, one mile nature trail
NO lifeguard on duty

Free and open to the public every day except Wednesday
10 AM - 6 PM
Memorial Day through Labor Day

My daughter had a wonderful time at dance camp at The Studio yesterday!

If you’re looking for a one-day, affordable summer camp, they are offering two more opportunities!

It’s only $28 and includes dance class, lunch, arts and crafts, live princesses, and a goodie bag.

You can stay or drop your child off, so it’s perfect both for parents who want an afternoon to themselves, and those who want to experience the magic with their little one.

Summer meals are back! ☀️

Hickory City Schools is offering meals at no cost for children ages 18 and under this summer, with two convenient options for families:

✔️ Weekly meal pick-up (3-day or 7-day boxes)
✔️ Daily meals on site at select locations

If you already know your summer plans, we encourage you to complete the registration form to help us prepare enough meals for all children.

📅 Program runs May 28 – August 13

Guided tour of some of Hart Square Village’s log cabins from the 1800s! This Friday!

Hart Square Foundation is pleased to offer two public group tours this month, June 12 and June 26. Guided tours will begin at 10am, with a knowledgeable tour guide leading you through a 1-½ hour tour of Hart Square Village. This is a great introduction to the nation’s largest collection of historic log structures and the ongoing work of preserving and sharing cultural heritage!
