🏳️‍⚧️ 𝐒𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐝𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐮𝐱 𝐫é𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭é𝐬 𝐝𝐞𝐬 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬* 🏳️‍⚧️

Du 13 au 19 novembre, nous prenons un moment pour écouter, comprendre et soutenir les voix trans*. Cette semaine est une invitation à ouvrir les cœurs et les esprits, à reconnaître les défis auxquels font face les personnes transgenres, et à célébrer leur force, leur authenticité et leur résilience.

Elle précède le 20 novembre, journée du souvenir trans*, dédiée à la mémoire de celles et ceux qui ont perdu la vie à cause de la violence et de la transphobie.

Ensemble, continuons de bâtir des espaces d’inclusion, de respect et d’amour où chacun·e peut vivre librement, sans peur ni jugement. 💙💗🤍

Tonight!
November is Trans Awareness Month, and this week we’re honoring that spirit through community care — a value deeply rooted in LGBTQ+ history.

This Wednesday, our youth will be building meal kits for neighbors in need 🥫🍛📝. With recent cuts to SNAP benefits, local food pantries like Centro Latino and the Hickory Soup Kitchen are feeling the strain. Together, we’ll take previously collected shelf-stable ingredients, pair them with easy recipes and handwritten notes, and share them with local families — a small act of love with big impact.

Mutual aid has always been part of how marginalized communities survive and thrive. It’s how we show up for each other when systems fall short — and how we build the kind of world we all deserve. 💜

🇺🇸TOMORROW is the 2025 Foothills Veterans Winter Stand Down!🇺🇸

This year's Stand Down details are:
📅 Thursday, November 13, 2025
🕓 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM (Doors open at 8 AM for registration)
📍 J.E. Broyhill Civic Center
1913 Hickory Blvd. Lenoir, NC

Stand Down is a special event for veterans to provide camaraderie, food, clothing, medical services, counseling, and so much more. For several years, Veterans Helping Veterans, a local non-profit, has hosted the Foothills Veterans Winter Stand Down in Caldwell County. The one-day event includes information, entertainment, a light breakfast, lunch, and more. Veterans from Caldwell, Alexander, Ashe, Avery, Burke, Catawba, McDowell, Watauga, Wilkes, and surrounding counties are invited to attend the annual event.
