In the Friday edition of the WHKY News, in top stories, despite recent rainfall, the Hickory Metro and entire state of North Carolina remains in a drought, we have an update on conditions, in addition Burke County officials say despite recent rainfall, water restrictions remain in place in the county. Also, N.C. Department of Transportation crews will replace a pipe in Caldwell County next week resulting in a road closure. In the crime report, the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office has filed child-pornography related charges against a county resident. In addition, David Cedrone reports as two men are facing separate felony charges in Caldwell County after arrests by Lenoir Police, one case involves drug and theft-related offenses, while the other centers on an alleged fraud investigation. Additionally, an Iredell County traffic stop led to multiple felony drug charges after deputies reportedly found methamphetamine, co***ne, and drug paraphernalia. In Local Sports, Jason Savage has news from Lenoir-Rhyne, where two players from the baseball squad have been honored.
