Episode 4 of The In-Between is out today: https://thenookpodcast.buzzsprout.com

“The God Who Provides (Kairos Timing)”

Just because something is delayed doesn’t mean it is denied.
God doesn’t work on Chronos (our clock and calendar).
He works on Kairos; His perfect, appointed time.
And while you wait, your purpose is still alive.
Your calling is still active.
You are not on pause, you’re being prepared.

💡 Practical Step This Week:
Start a “Kairos + Provision Journal.”
Each day write down:
One thing God provided
One moment of gratitude
One Scripture that spoke to you
You’ll begin to see that God has been in the details all along.

📖 Scripture to Hold Onto:
Galatians 6:9 — “At the proper time (Kairos) we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
Ecclesiastes 3:11 — “He has made everything beautiful in its time.”
Philippians 1:6 — “He who began a good work in you will complete it.”
Isaiah 60:22 — “When the time is right, I the Lord will make it happen.”
Delayed is not denied.
Slow is not stuck.
Your Kairos is coming — and God is providing even now.

Episode 3 of The In-Between is out today: https://thenookpodcast.buzzsprout.com

“The Waiting Wilderness”

The hardest part of transition isn’t the loss, it’s the waiting.
The days where nothing seems to move.
The silence.
The endless job applications.
The emotional ups and downs.

But Scripture shows us this truth:
Waiting is not wasted. It is the place where God forms us.

💡 Practical Step This Week:
Practice a simple daily rhythm of Scripture, one small step, and surrender:
Read one verse slowly.
Take one small intentional action.
Pray: “God, I trust You with what I cannot see.”
Small steps create spiritual momentum.

📖 Scripture to Hold Onto:
Isaiah 40:31 — “Those who wait on the Lord will renew their strength.”
Psalm 27:13–14 — “Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart.”
Lamentations 3:22–23 — “His mercies are new every morning.”
Romans 5:3–5 — “Suffering produces perseverance… character… hope.”

If you’re stuck in the in-between, take heart.
God does some of His best work in the quiet places.

“The Identity Battle”

Who am I when the job title disappears?
Unemployment has a way of shaking more than our finances; it shakes our identity. It exposes how much we’ve tied our worth to what we do instead of who we are.

But Scripture makes this clear:
Your identity isn’t found in a job, a role, or your productivity, it’s found in Christ alone.

💡 Practical Step This Week:
Write a simple identity statement rooted in Scripture.
Something like:
“I am God’s masterpiece.”
“My life is hidden with Christ.”
“I am chosen and deeply loved.”
Say it out loud every morning.
Let truth speak louder than insecurity.

📖 Scripture to Hold Onto:
Ephesians 2:10 — “For we are God’s workmanship…”
Colossians 3:3 — “Your life is hidden with Christ in God.”
Psalm 23:1 — “The Lord is my Shepherd; I lack nothing.”
John 15:5 — “Apart from Me you can do nothing.”

Your purpose didn’t disappear with your job.
You are still called. Still gifted. Still valuable.
Identity comes before activity.

I currently find myself in an unexpected season of unemployment and I decided to chronicle how that is going through a 4-part podcast series called "The In-Between". The first episode releases today: https://thenookpodcast.buzzsprout.com

With each episode, I will have an accompanying summary and some action steps for those who might be going through something similar.

What do you do when life falls apart without warning?
If you’ve ever experienced sudden job loss, heartbreak, or a door closing when you least expected it, you know the shockwave it sends through your mind and soul.

The good news: God is closest when life feels most unstable.

💡 Practical Step This Week:

Make space to feel what you’re feeling.
Don’t rush it. Don’t numb it. Don’t pretend it’s fine.
Talk to God honestly. Journal. Share with a trusted friend.

Healing begins when we stop trying to “be strong” and allow ourselves to be honest.

📖 Scripture to Hold Onto:

Psalm 34:18 — “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
Psalm 139:16 — “All the days ordained for me were written in Your book before one of them came to be.”
Hebrews 10:23 — “Let us hold tightly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful.”

If today feels heavy, breathe deep.
God is not surprised by your situation, and He’s not going anywhere.

Faith cures fretting. Sight is cross-eyed, and views things only as they seem, hence her envy; faith has clearer optics to behold things as they really are, hence her peace.
