New Buchtelite Series: Read it, and Weep📚✨

Hello! my name is Emily, and I am the Opinion Editor with the Buchtelite.

I’m a junior who just switched my major from pre-med to the accelerated bachelors and master's program in English. It is a huge change, but I am finally going after what I want and what I am passionate about. I will be pursuing my PhD, if the universe allows and I want to teach at a university. I have always loved literature, reading, and writing but my entire life changed when I took two classes here at Akron with the most phenomenal professor, and I am at my absolute happiest even though I am starting over at 27. Medieval literature has my heart, and I’m pretty sure Arthurian legend haunts me on a weekly basis.

I love to write poetry, read all kinds of novels, and spend time with my family. I have an almost 7-year-old son.

I am excited to announce my new social media series: Read it, and Weep 🫶🏼 I will be sharing book reviews every Thursday and I would love for everyone to share books they love, too! 🧡
