A year ago, the world lost a great talent and a wonderful person in Zina Katsman. Her studio is gone, and even Madame Zuzu's where she performed each month is gone. Here is Zina, playing Billy Corgan's piano, at Zuzu's, not missing a note, just a handful of months before dying.

A nice tribute from Corgan, owner of Madame Zuzu's, where Zina performed each month.

It is with a heavy heart that I share with our Zuzu's family that Zina Katsman, a brilliant pianist who shared her gift and passion so generously, has passed away. Details are scarce, but I'd like to say to her friends and family that we are so grateful for the time she made to share with us and others, and I can say personally that listening to her play the great composers so effortlessly, and with a true joy, was a real treat. To those bereaved, we send our deepest condolences and prayers.

BOCers, our fellow networker and a true friend of mine, Zina Katsman, of Piano For Everyone studio, passed away today.

The funeral is 1pm Wednesday, July 12, at Colonial Funeral Home, 8025 W. Golf Road, Niles, IL.

She was extremely talented and a real sweetheart, who I will miss.
