If it is helpful, my outline of talking points on topics of the Jew haters on apartheid, genocide, ceasefire, racism, humanitarian aid, colonialism, etc.
Appreciate any corrections/feedback
They chant
“From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be free” and
“Israel, Israel, you can’t hide, we want Jewish genocide.”
Responses to the challengers:
1. Do Jews illegally occupy “Palestine”
No.
A. HOW IS Israel an " occupier" when it's on its own land, awarded by God in the Bible and multiple international agreements since. What religion was Jesus? Where did he live? (answer Judea before Romans changed name to Palestina) who lived there besides Roman soldiers? Answer: Jews. Israel is the best example in Israel of an indigenous people, decolonializing a land from the British and Ottoman interlopers The Jews are the INDIGEOUS People of the region, going back 4000 years to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob. It was always Jewish land. Cannan-Judea-Palestine-Israel.
B. First time there is any recognition or mention of a separate Arab Palestinian group? Palestine flag in 1939 had a Jewish star. Arafat made it all up in 1960, prompted by KGB. The People who call themselves Palestinians since 1960 are just Arabs, from Arabia, who migrated there recently. The local residents in 1948, who were begged by Israel to stay by Israel, fled.
C. There are 21 Arab countries, 55 Muslim ones, 20+ Christian ones. The UN felt there should be 1 Jewish one. Jordan takes up a HUGE % of original mandate of Palestine and has mostly local Arabs as population.
D. Palestinians officially chant to kill every Jew and steal Jewish land.
E. The " Palestinians turned DOWN multiple offers to share. They don't want to share. They want Jews exterminated and Israel gone.
2. Ceasefire
A. Did world demand ceasefire of US after Pearl Harbor?
B. Wasn't there a ceasefire before Oct 7 which Hamas VIOLATED? Hamas has violated ceasefire after ceasefire.
C. What would US do if Mexican terrorist group, protected and harbored by Mexico, sent 50,000 rockets into US, killed 50,000 people one day, wounded 100,000 answers kidnapped 6000 (adjusted for population differential)
D. Key to regional stability is the utter destruction of Hamas. A perceived weak Israels all but jihadists and swings the moderates.
3. Civilian casualties.
A. You cannot believe anything hams says about casualties. They just lie. (the hospital story)
B. Did world media focus on casualties in Hiroshima, Nagasaki and Dresden? Unlike Israel, US targeted civilians to stop the barbarians C. Hamas deliberately trying to pit Gazans in harm's way when Israel is trying so hard to avoid civilian casualties.
D. They’ve sent thousands of missiles TRYING to inflict civilian casualties.
4. Refugees Why should US take Palestinian refugees who poll 93% hatred of Jews when their fellow 21 Arab nations take 0? Let the 21 Arab nations, with 521 million cousins and hundreds of billions in GNP take them.
5. Tolerating haters and genocidal maniacs
a. Why are foreigners here on " student" visas be allowed to remain in US while espousing genocide? " Marching, chanting we want Jewish genocide"
b. Why should our tax folders go to schools that permit marchers to chant " we want Jewish genocide"? Cut them off.
c. Why should colleges permit terrorist advocacy organizations on campus, like Students for Justice in Palestine? They wouldn't allow K*K GROUP.
d. Why are our cities granting permits to marchers who chant " we want Jewish genocide"?
e. Why does US law allow foreign countries to donate and therefore. influence, our universities? How did young Americans get so brainwashed they cheer for genocidal terrorist groups? Hundreds of billions from Arab countries, Qatar, Saudis etc and Marxist KGB money for decades.
f. expel from US any visa'd non-citizen Hamas supporter?
6. How is Israel racist when 3/4ths have roots in African or Arab lands: Morocco, Libya, Egypt, Ethiopia, Syria, Iraq, Iran. 750,000 Jews in 1948-1952 with 0 compensation after living there 2500 years. When 18% of its citizens are Muslims with full rights? When virtually all biological Jews have origins in the Levant/Africa.
7."apartheid"? All Arab nations practice apartheid. Israel has 18% Muslim citizens with full rights. Christians and other religions.
8. Humanitarian aid?
A. Why should they get any?
a. 93% Gazans ADMIT to hating Jews. Huge % of Gazans VOTED in Hamas. They are collaborators in evil. They allow Hamas to fire 25,000 missiles since Israel unilaterally pulled out 100% in 2005. They know exactly who the 30,000 Hamas killers are and where they store the missiles and tunnels. The people protesting the issue celebrated Hamas murdering 1400 Israelis, ra**ng, decapitating babies.
b. Every time “humanitarian” aid is sent in, they use the cement for tunnels and metal for water pipes they use for missiles, and money to reward terrorists.
c. Billions have been siphoned off to the top leaders as corruption. Abu Marzuk $3 billion Khaled Ashal $4 billion Ismail Haniyeh $4 billion
d. All they have to do is turn over the captive Israelis. They know where they are.
e. They won’t release them 93% of the water comes from inside Gaza in aquifers.
f. They’ve had 18 years to build electrical plants. Instead, they built murdering tunnels.
g. Egypt has a border. They can provide it. Instead, they let them pass weapons through the tunnels there.
h. Despite all this, Israel is allowing in huge supplies everyday.
9. Genocide? Palestinians are thriving and the freest Arabs in the region. Mosques up 500%
10. Who supports Hamas? Who supports evil Hamas in US? 57% of Muslims believed that Hamas atrocities against Jews were justified. 11.5% of American Jews also agreed that Hamas was justified. IfNotNow’s first statement after the Hamas r**e, torture, kidnapping and murder of Israelis asserted that, “we cannot and will not say today’s actions by Palestinian militants are unprovoked. Every day under Israel’s apartheid system is a provocation.” It made no mention of Hamas, but only claimed that the “blood is on the hands” of America and Israel. “the Hamas killing of 1200 Israeli civilians in Israel can be justified by the grievances of Palestinians.” This was an opinion held by 31% of Democrats and 36% of self-described liberals. Blacks (33%), Hispanics (28%) justified the murder of Jews more than white people did (21%).
11. Why does the Far Left hate Jews so much? Jews being called racist stems from critical race theory which flips Jewish history on its head and calls the most oppressed throughout history "oppressors" and calls Jews white or white adjacent despite 6 million being murdered in the Holocaust for not being white. It is state-sponsored antisemitism. It is one reason why antisemitism has exploded everywhere. There were 12 tribes of Israel and 90% of today's Jews come from the Levant. Part of the remaining 10% come from Ethiopia. It is a racist lie to call Jews racist and a smokescreen being used by the left to justify their Jew hate. The Neo N***s also trying to get into the hate Jews act

Here is their latest

Dear SHD LWR lawyers,
Thank you for joining the Legal War Room! There are more than 400 of you signed up from all over the world and we are very excited about working with all of you!

First, let me introduce you to Iris Cohenian. She is with me at the Shurat HaDin offices in Israel and she will be the non-lawyer project manager for the Legal War Room.

Second, we will be sending you an update in the next day or two of projects that have been completed or are underway. We will be include a list of projects that need lawyers so you can sign up for one or two that interest you and are in line with your availability.

In the meantime, I have two relatively urgent requests that I wanted to get out to you right away:

Suing the media is something we have researched quite extensively here at Shurat HaDin for many years. It is complicated and difficult, but we have been contacted by an Israeli official (confidentially) who would like our help with combatting false news reports, and particularly those based on reports from the Gaza Bureau of Statistics and other similar "offices." Those reports are actually coming from Hamas, are continuously issues false, and it is harmful to Israel. The most obvious example in this war was the false reports about the "Israeli attack" on the Gazan hospital with "500 dead."

CALL TO ACTION: Before we get into a debate about if, how, and where we can sue, (let's discuss that later), we need a plaintiff. For now, email us if you know anyone who was injured in person or property (harassment, threats, etc. could be good enough) anywhere in the world in the hours and days after the Gaza hospital incident.

For example, any Jews harassed or accosted anywhere in the world in the hours and days after the false reports? Michigan folks – any update on the murder of Samantha Woll? It could also be someone non-Jewish who got injured in riots after the reports of the attack. Anyone have any connection to the man who died of a heart attack near the riot at the Israeli embassy in Turkey, or any of the more than 60 people (including police officers) who were injured that night? Anyone know anyone near the Israeli embassy in Lebanon that night? Etc…

Yesterday, two Canadian LWR lawyers completed drafting and sent a legal demand letter, on SHD letterhead and signed by Nitsana, to 60 Canadian colleges/universities. The letter is attached for your review. Thank you Ricky and Jillian!

We have a few attorneys from the US and from South Africa who specifically asked to work on, or suggested, this project. I will be in touch with them directly to tweak the letter for their country's relevant law and the to get it out far and wide.

CALL TO ACTION: If you are from a country other than Canada, South Africa and the U.S. and would like to work on this project, please email me back. Again – there will be many projects so only respond if you have a special expertise or are particularly interested in this topic. We need help with drafting/tweaking, creating emails lists for distribution, and sending, fielding responses.

Thank you all. Again, we will be in touch shortly with updates and more projects!

Our strategy has failed.
Talking solely About how evil Hamas is, evidently has NO impact on the half of under 34s in USA because these
people, incomprehensibly, say butchering Jews is JUSTIFIABLE.

Showing Hamas as evil may impact the half that sees the truth of Hamas' depravity.

The Muslims had hard left have gained control of the college narrative.

The only thing we can do with that is refute the wrong beliefs the misguided have, and hope thoughtful people can come to see the truth.

To those half of 34 and under who believe the N**i idea that genocide of Jews is justifiable, The campaign must be

"HAMAS is lying to you
You've been had"

TRUTH

Palestinians have 0 claim to the land. They were a manufactured people in 1960. The Arabs always saw them as just arabs.
Jews have the best claim.of any nation on any land on earth
Jerusalem is NEVER mentioned in the Quran 700 Ce, but 687 times in Hebrew Bible, thousands of years earlier.

Historians estimate that there were up to 7,000,000 Jews living in Israel at the time of Jesus.
There were zero Muslims because Mohammed wouldn’t be born for another 500 years. The Arabs were in Arabia.
So, who are the colonizers?
Palestinians practice APARTHEID, not Israel.
18% of Israell are full citizen Muslims.
Palestinians want to commit GENOCIDE on Jews, even as Palestinians thrive.
Palestinians There are over 400 mosques in the Jewish state, up 500% from 30 years ago.

Naveed Anjum not want to share the land
They want to kill every Jew and steal Jewish land.

The obvious human solution now is that Hamas should release all the hostages, surrender to the Israelis, lay down their arms and destroy their terror tunnels. Then Israel and the world could help rebuild Gaza and make the standard of living better for most Gazans. Simple and fair.

Hamas does not care about Gaza. They have no intention to ever live in peace. They want death.
Israel is BEGGING Gazans to VACATE areas so they can clean out they garbage rays of Hamas while MINIMIZE
civilian casualties of a population which polls 93% hatred of Jews and voted FOR Hamas. Has any other army wortied do much about enemy nation's civilian casualties? US firebombed Dresden and dropped 2 nuks on Japan

Meanwhile

Hamas is FORCING the Gazans to remain on the line of fire, to MAXIMIZE the civilian casualties of its own people

Not ONE Arab state has agreed to take Gazans out of harm's way. Egypt, which controlled Gaza until 1967, and shares a border, refuses.

And CNN can't figure out whose committing war crimes.
Every day for 18 years Hamas carried out terror against Israeli civilians and morally bankrupt fools attack Israel.

10/17/2023

This is 100% on Hamas

1. Hamas was elected by huge margins in Gaza
2. Hamas uses humanitarian aid to build missiles and terror tunnels
3. Hamas teaches little children to hate and chant kill Israel
4. Hamas officially charter calls to kill Jews everywhere and destroy Israel
5. Hamas has had 100% control since 2005 when Israel withdrew
6. Hamas has shot more than 30,000 rockets since then, from hospitals, schools, mosques
7. Oct 7 in long planned operation, Hamas invaded Iarael, killed 1400 ( equivalent to 50,000 US), wounded 3500, kidnapped 200. Their behavior worse than Isis
8. 93% Gazans admit to Hating Jews
9. Israel asked Gazans to evacuate areas to minimize casualties. Hamas is blocking them from leaving
10. Hamas does not care how many Gazans die. The more the better for their purposes
11. Everything Israel has conducted an operation to respond to Hamas terror, WITHOUT finishing them, the result is more terror. Anyone complaining about Israel's response is inviting g more dead Jews. Either they are stupid or anti semites.
12. Did US show restraint in Nagasaki, Hiroshima, Dresden? Israel behaves 1000x more restraint.
13. Israel allowed in 17000 workers daily. The leaders of the massacre at the kibbutz were Gazans allowed in to work there
14. One Israeli opened a factory in Gazacto employ people. They killed his son Oct 7.
15. The sides are clearly drawn. Good vs evil. Right vs wrong. Terror vs civilized. Which side are you on?

We face an Emergency situation for Jews about anti Semitism and Jewish leadership betrays us because they won’t take on the Democratic antisemites.

Our Conservative Jewish group tonight had a session with Dr. Charles Jacobs about antisemitism. It was based on his new book, a must read www.amazon.com/Betrayal-Failure-American-Jewish-Leadership/dp/163758878X/ref=sr_1_2?crid=Q4M12SBILSUM&keywords=betrayal&qid=1688005091&sprefix=betraya%2Caps%2C114&sr=8-2A collection of essays about the crisis we face.
His thesis
1. Jews face more threats than ALL other minoritiescombined in the US and it is increasing.
2. This stem from 4 groups
a. Neo n***s
b. Farakhan and his Black followers
c. Radicalized jihadist Muslims
d. The progressive left
3. They control much of the narrative on campuses, the mainstream media, increasingly k-12 education. In this, Jews are seen as evil.Jews are the oppressors, Israel is satanic.
4. The Jewish “legacy organizations: ADL,Federations, AJC, Bnai Brith etc. have done 0 to stop this, and indeed, despite requests for over 30 years, enflamed it by downplaying it, asking for patience, saying “if we’re nice to them, they’ll be nice to us” while these antisemititic groups systematically expanded and created this emergency. The only legacy group consistently fighting has been the Zionist Organization of America.
5. Therefore, other groups have had to arise to fight: Stand With Us, Camera, Honest reporting and others.
6. Dr Jacobs said we have to SHAME the failed Jewish leadership to get them to take this seriously.

Sorry, that isn’t going to work. My view: all 4 sources of anti Semitism are DEMOCRATS as are most Jews and the big Jewish donors. https://worldisraelnews.com/former-neo-nazi-leader-white-supremacists-are-far-more-pro-biden-than-pro-trump/ +Muslims 70% for Biden.
The real issue is the Democratic Party, which is now overwhelmingly antisemitic and anti-Israel. BUT, the overwhelming majority of Jews support Democrats. The Jewish Legacy organizations will NEVER properly fight anti semitic because they’d lose funding from their Jewish Democratic donors since they’ll have to go after the Democratic party’s countenance of antisemites.. https://www.blogger.com/blog/post/edit/6734898288155490866/4784570493887991071

The key is to get Jews to switch to the GOP. To understand the Democrats are increasingly Jew haters. The GOP is our best hope to fight anti semitism

John Daly led a N**i skinhead group in Florida and survived a brutal assault after his Jewish heritage was discovered.

How the Biden administration continues to harm Israel.
the U.S. Ambassador to Israel, Thomas Nides, who personally approved a proposal to grant nearly $1 million to anti-Israel NGOs to delegitimize and stigmatize Israel. According to the Washington Free Beacon, in January of 2022 Nides signed off on a proposal to seek up to $987,654 to demonize Israel and to provide “accountability” for “atrocities.” According to a grant notice posted in February 2022, $987,654 is to be supplied to an NGO by the Department of State Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor (DRL) to charge Israel with human rights abuses in Judea, Samaria, and Gaza. The content of the notice is disgraceful. It includes a “focus on […] survivors of atrocities.” The only atrocities the United States government has ever documented are terrorist attacks on Jewish civilians and human rights violations by the terrorist dictatorship Palestinian Authority, which pays Arabs lifetime pensions to murder Jews or Americans. The grants are supposed to be ‘locally led,’ which is Washington-speak for affiliated with radical elements in Judea, Samaria, and Gaza. Israel took action against six NGOs with direct links to terror organizations last year, including the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP).
No money for these grants was ever paid by the State Department, but only because of publicity generated by Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) and other members of Congress.
Ambassador Nides has been aptly called ‘Israel’s Arsonist-in-Chief’. He stated, “I really think that most Israelis do not want America to stay out of their business.” He has interfered repeatedly in Israel’s domestic, internal affairs and works for an administration that provided taxpayer funds to directly support partisan protests against the Netanyahu government this spring. Nides is urging that Israel stop its reform plan which would make its Supreme Court more diverse and not overwhelmingly left wing and end Israel’s Supreme Court from ignoring and overriding passed Knesset laws. He has also proclaimed he will not go to Judea/Samaria where 600,000 Jews live. Nides always criticizes Israel publicly but never the terrorist dictatorship of Mahmoud ABBAs and his Arab regime, while supporting giving them $800 million of U.S. aid, ignoring the Taylor Force Act.
Nides announced his resignation, to take effect soon but the undermining of Israel continues.

What has happened to American Jewish politicians?

Earlier this week, a black Christian Senator, Tom Scott, censored two leading Democrat Jews, Chuck Schumer and Bernie Sanders, for permitting Rashida Tlaib to hold an anti-Israel Naqba event in the nation's Capitol at a time when Palestinian Islamic Jhad was firing in excess of 600 rockets into Israeli civilians’ towns and villages from Gaza. This as PIJ is acknowledged as a terrorist organization by the US Government. What is wrong with Democrat Jews? Let it be known that the event was co-sponsored by Democrats Cori Bush, the resolution is co-sponsored by Reps. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY), Betty McCollum (D-MN), Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), and Ilhan Omar (D-MN). Jews of America! If this doesn't cause you to walk away from the Democrat Party, nothing will. Shame on you! In the meantime, as Palestinian rockets are falling in our streets and on our homes, we Israelis feel deserted by Democrat Jews and find support from non-Jewish Republicans like Tim Scott and Kevin McCarthy who condemned the Nagba event and said he would host a bipartisan discussion honoring 75 years of the US-Israel relationship,

Barry Shaw, Israel Institute for Strategic Studies.

I'm sure many of the Israelis protesting the current govt. Policies are sincere. Realize though:
1. Every right-of- center Israeli government is treated with disdain by the Tel Aviv elite Ashkenazi and labelled as fascists. When Begin first broke the Labor monopoly, I heard Jews in US claim fascism was coming to Israel.

2. What moral right do American Jews have to condemn a decision by the democratically elected Knesset? Do they live and die with the consequences?

3. Know that Obama and now Biden not only funded the left in Israel elections and sent over top staff to try and defeat Bibi, but are currently FUNDING THE PROTESTS. They want to hinder Israel's ability to stop Iran. https://thejewishvoice.com/2023/03/how-us-taxpayer-funds-are-flowing-to-a-group-bankrolling-anti-netanyahu-protests/

4. The right is claiming it is the Israeli Supreme Court that is fundamentally undemocratic and needs reform.

My summary of the article
1. Jews cowering from the "Day of Hate" called by a tiny group of neo-N***s, is HELPING their cause.
2. Simply saying "be proud to be Jewish" is insufficient.
3. The bigger threat is from the now fairly regular anti semitism spewed by a segment of the Black community (Kanye praising Hi**er, Farrakhan says Judaism is a gutter religion) + the anti semitism from Muslims.
4. The bigger threat is from the New York Times, given it's influence normalizing lies about Jews and Israel.
5. Jews and especially Jewish leadership misdiagnosing the threat or being unwilling to admit it, is the greatest threat.
6. Jewish opposition to gun ownership is suicidal.
JONATHAN S. TOBIN
How worrying is the far-right’s ‘Day of Hate’ stunt?
An Internet announcement is troubling, but the idea of Jews cowering in response and the mainstreaming of antisemitism by the corporate media is the real problem.
(February 24, 2023 / JNS) Far-right hate groups have got the Jewish community scared and with good reason. After the murderous synagogue shootings in Pittsburgh in 2018 and Poway in 2019, extremist antisemitic hate ceased being a theoretical problem. Random viral videos of hateful acts and speech, vandalism as well as those public events in which white supremacists and their allies are able to generate publicity—like the August 2017 neo-N**i “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville, Va.—have all combined to create the impression that such groups not only present a credible threat to Jewish security but that they have considerable support.
In this context, the effort by a network of neo-N**i groups to promote a “National Day of Hate” aimed at harassing and threatening Jews on Saturday, Feb. 25, has attracted the notice of both the organized Jewish world as well as law enforcement in places like New York City, Chicago and elsewhere.
Yet the problem with the justified worries about the existence of these groups and threats like the one surrounding the “Day of Hate” is twofold.
One is that the spectacle of Jews responding with fear rather than resolve to directly confront the neo-N***s gives these vile creatures an undeserved victory. The largely misleading impression that such outliers are a major force in American society also helps obscure a more important challenge: the daily mainstreaming of antisemitic hate from the intersectional left by leading media outlets, and the way Jew-hatred has become normative in much of the Muslim and African-American communities.
It remains to be seen whether or not the “Day of Hate” will bring with it incidents that will justify the alarm it has caused, but clearly, caution and preparedness are the right response to such threats. Whether or not the fears about it prove justified, the sad truth is that the furor it generated had to be counted as a success for hate groups even before the start of Shabbat.

By generating such publicity and alarm, the neo-N***s demonstrated their ability to project the sort of strength that their paltry numbers and utter lack of mainstream support should have prevented them from attaining.
We already know that the Internet and social media have given extremists of all stripes tools they lacked before these things existed.
Though they remain the primary focus of the efforts to counter antisemitism on the part of legacy Jewish organizations, there is no evidence that the number of those involved in white-supremacist or neo-N**i groups is great. On the contrary, they appear to have only a tiny number of actual supporters. However, their ability to bring together small, isolated and disparate cells of extremists virtually makes them seem not only louder but more numerous.
Indeed, all it takes is for an individual to post a video of a few of them acting out their hateful beliefs, even if it involves nothing more than waving a sign or yelling insults on a street corner to freak out a community that is primed to believe that such outliers are the primary threat to Jewish life in America.
Worse, the entirely justified efforts of police to step up protection of Jewish institutions in response to the Internet threats of a day of hate allows those involved to both claim a public-relations triumph and to further depict Jews as cowering in fear in response to what might well prove to be empty threats.
The proper response to this sort of Internet-inspired attempt at intimidation is for Jews to choose to gather on that day specifically to demonstrate their contempt for antisemites and solidarity in the face of threats. Like the national Jewish response after the Pittsburgh shooting, efforts like that of groups like StandWithUs to promote a “Shabbat of Love” or Club Z’s call for massive synagogue attendance on Feb. 25 demonstrate a healthy unwillingness to be terrorized by a tiny cadre of neo-N***s. Equally significant (and well-timed) is a Times Square celebration on Saturday night for thousands of young people as part of the annual CTeen Shabbaton sponsored by the Chabad-Lubavitch movement.
Still, it is more than likely that such efforts won’t command the same kind of support as those organized by left-wing groups like the National Council of Jewish Women, who used the previous Shabbat to promote their stands in favor of abortion. That’s an issue that seems to generate far more fervor among most American Jews than those that revolve around efforts to defend Jews against attacks, either in the United States or Israel.
The hate groups aren’t really focused on what the organized Jewish community does. But should neo-N***s or white supremacists attempt some sort of organized march to intimidate Jews, they know that it is unlikely that the community will respond with force or active measures of self-defense since the vast majority of them are still resolutely opposed to gun ownership or any form of counter-protest that could possibly lead to violence.
At the same time, the hysteria about unspecified threats from the neo-N***s tends to distract the community away from forms of antisemitism that, while seemingly less scary, demonstrates the way hatred for Jews is legitimized in 21st-century America.
The demonization of Israel and its supporters in mainstream political discourse and in national publications and broadcast networks are so commonplace as to become routine. In academia or even in popular culture, the acceptance of toxic left-wing ideologies rooted in intersectional myths about Jews being the embodiment of “white privilege” who assist in the oppression of Palestinian people of color is rarely even challenged. Such charges have the support of many progressives with real political clout in a Biden administration that has embraced an “equity” agenda that is harmful to Jewish interests and ready to treat Israel unfairly. Neo-N***s have no support anywhere in American politics.
Moreover, as worrisome as threats may be, it should not be forgotten that the epidemic of antisemitic violence against Orthodox Jews in Brooklyn, N.Y., has shown no signs of abating, as New York City hate-crime statistics have recently shown. That is an ongoing threat that has continued to generate little interest among the liberal majority of American Jewry, not least because the perpetrators of almost all of those attacks are African-Americans and perhaps inspired, at least in part, by the Nation of Islam’s Louis Farrakhan.
Legacy groups like the Anti-Defamation League are able to enjoy great fundraising success by sounding the alarm about neo-N***s. But apparently, rallying to the defense of Jews who do not share the beliefs or politics of their donors isn’t as exciting.
At the same time, the publication that liberal Jews continue to venerate as a holy text—The New York Times—has stepped up its bizarre campaign to demonize ultra-Orthodox Jews. The latest entry in the series is an effort to depict them as deceitful looters of the public purse. While the initial point of the Times’ recent coverage of this community was a legitimate inquiry about the standards of secular education in haredi schools, fears that this massive effort by the so-called paper of record was not only fueling antisemitism but also an example of it have been proven correct.
So while Jews do well to take neo-N**i threats seriously, the general apathy about the Times’ mainstreaming of anti-Zionist rhetoric and its own antisemitic campaign against the Orthodox illustrate the organized Jewish community’s upside-down priorities. A Jewish community that is petrified about vague threats from politically isolated extremists but is largely indifferent to antisemitism at the nation’s leading newspaper is one that no one can pretend has a rational or serious interest in defending Jews or Jewish rights.
