It's time for some short king appreciation.

Across Class 5A in the Dallas area, sub-6-foot quarterbacks are thriving, leveraging their mobility, quick decision-making and pinpoint accuracy to dominate defenses.

Yet college recruiters remain fixated on prototypical size: In the 2025 and 2026 classes, not a single top-five quarterback prospect stands shorter than 6-1, with the average hovering around 6-3, according to 247Sports.

Still, these quarterbacks keep winning, turning perceived limitations into fuel for their teams’ title pursuits.

Highland Park Town Hall isn’t just a pretty landmark we pass by—it’s where the heart of our community beats. Built in 1924 and beautifully restored in 2014, it blends history with everything we need today: council chambers, municipal court, customer service, and even our incredible team of triple-certified first responders. It’s a place designed to keep our town connected, protected, and heard. Next time you walk past, take a moment to appreciate all that happens inside these walls!

During the 89th Legislative Session, Texas lawmakers passed House Bill 1481, which requires public school districts to implement policies restricting student use of personal communication devices during the instructional day.

In compliance with HB 1481, HPISD will restrict the use of personal communication devices, including cell phones, smartwatches, tablets, gaming devices, and earbuds, for all students in grades Preschool–12 during the school day beginning in the 2025–2026 school year.

Welcome to Around Town with The Bubble Lounge — a new video series where we take you behind the scenes of the places that make the Park Cities so special. From hidden gems and family favorites to local landmarks and businesses, we’re exploring it all one stop at a time.

If you haven’t visited Saint Michael’s Woman’s Exchange lately, now’s the time to pop in — even with the construction happening around Highland Park Village, this local gem is open, thriving, and doing so much good. Tucked into the Village since 1958, the shop is run entirely by volunteers from Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church, and 100% of proceeds go to support local charities and outreach efforts.

From beautiful gifts and home goods to baby items, books, and seasonal finds, everything in the store is thoughtfully curated — and every purchase supports something bigger. It’s shopping with heart and a Highland Park tradition. Whether you're picking up a hostess gift or just browsing, this is one of those places where giving back and giving well go hand in hand.

Located at 5 Highland Park Village
