Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Crews family today. Please say a prayer for God to guide them in this difficult time. The logging world has lost a one of its biggest advocates and a true woodsman! 🤍🤍
Crews - Allen R. Crews, Jr., Born May 29, 1936 to Allen R. Crews, Sr. (Buster) and Wilma Smith Padgett. Jr. went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on March 30, 2023. He was 86 years old. Although his education did not reach beyond the 4th grade, he founded and operated his logging company, A&B Crews and Sons Inc, for 63 years. He operated and grew the business alongside his oldest son, Dwayne Crews. He married the love of his life, Beatrice (Bea) Crews July 26, 1958. They had 3 children, Dwayne (Donna) Crews, Randy (Renee’) Crews and Sherri (Gary) Ard; 8 grandchildren, Rebecca Crews, Lesley (Richard Michado) Crews, Tyler (Courtney) Ard, Sara Lynn (Drax) Geiger, Jenny Beth Ard, Chandler Crews, Chloe Crews, and Caden Crews; 2 great-grands, Judah and Levi Ard; 3 sisters, Myrtle Caldwell, Brenda Stalvey, Caron Padgett. He is preceded in death by his brother, Durrell R. (Bob) Crews.
Jr.’s hobbies included spending time with his family, gardening and attending his church Victory Baptist on the northside of Jacksonville. He never hesitated to take the time to invest in each and every person around him, especially his children and grandchildren. Jr. encapsulated what it meant to walk with the Lord and live out what it meant to follow Jesus each and every day. Although 86 years seems like just a short time for those closest to him, he taught, blessed, and influenced each and every person that he came across during his time on earth.
The impact that he left on those closest to him will be reflected and lived out in the way that he would want, and we know that he will be watching over those he loved each and every day. He leaves behind a legacy of faith, family, and fellowship that will be remembered by so many for years to come.
Pallbearers: Dale Libby, Josh Brantley, Easton Brantley, Chandler Crews, Tyler Ard, Ricky Crews, Kevin Stewart, Richard Machado.
