Did you make a New Year's Resolution to read more? Relax more? Have more fun? Illustrated Worlds Magazine might not help you lose weight or make more money, but it can certainly exercise your mind and buff up your imagination.

British artist Michael Noonan is in the artist spotlight on this gray New Year's Day. His piece "Old Dark House" gave the story "Old School" by John Bruni an eerie vibe. Suddenly, you're there, visiting the elderly residents of Sunny Hills. Enjoy your stay but don't turn your back on them.

"Transitional Journey" is an illustration by Emerald, an artist from Nigeria. This isn't the first time Emerald has contributed to the magazine, and we're so happy to have him back.

This image accompanies the story "A Necessary Sacrifice" by Erin L. Swann. Erin's tale of an Ice Queen and her reign can make the reader question what exactly constitutes a villain and what makes a savior.

There's no better way to start the new year than with a cup of tea, a warm blanket and a chilly story or two to make the night come alive. Order the Winter 2025 issue today at www.Illustratedworldsmagazine.com

"Drakuleta" is a piece by Bosnian artist Adnadin Jašarević. This is Adnadin's first published piece outside of Yugoslavia and Austria, so we're proud to be the first English publication to feature them.

The image is paired with the story by Author L.L. Madrid from Arizona. A desert landscape, an entitled internet influencer and mischievous fairies make for an intriguing read. Don't miss the Winter 2025 issue of Illustrated Worlds Magazine.

Happy Holidays!

Illustrated Worlds Magazine presents a new contributor to our pages. Artist, Zoe Marzo, creates images using turmeric powder on light sensitive paper, and with the help of the desert sun, she turns pressed vegetation into moody, beautiful shadow visions.

Her work is paired with the poetic words of author K.B. Kalaw, whose story "The Hollow Queen and the Velvet Forest" is a feast of imagery in words alone. I think the two together present an evocative and mysterious experience.
