♥️ Lahaina ♥️
On this day 2 years ago 102 people lost their lives, countless homes we're leveled by fire and thousands were left with just the clothes on their back. This day was filled with more sorrow than we can know.
I know I'll never forget the sobriety of our little island on this day and the days to follow. But I will also never forget the community that rose up to answer the need. Countless lifted yoda's passed my house filled to the brim with generators and grills, Cessnas and helicopters flew overhead stuffed with clothing and diapers, boats brought over medical supplies and food until there was a "Kanaka Costco" on every corner. None of it planned but simply our community responding with open hands.
Psalm 46:1-3
"God is our refuge and strength,
a helper who is always found in times of trouble.
Therefore we will not be afraid,
though the earth trembles and the mountains topple into the depths of the seas,
though it's water roars and foams and the mountains quake with its turmoil."
