78 year old Hinesville woman scammed out of $8,000 cash.

A Hinesville woman was scammed out of her savings after receiving a call last Tuesday her 57 year old daughter had been arrested and her bond was set at $16,000.

According to a Hinesville incident report filed by Officer Christina Lopez, the woman said she had received a call from a woman who identified herself as her daughter crying hysterically. After the woman hung up she received another call from someone who identified themselves as a Fort Stewart employee stating her daughter had been arrested and it would require a cash bond of $16,000 to release her.

The woman told the caller she didn’t have $16,000 but can provide $8,000. The caller said they would take half and a courier would be sent to the home to pick it up.

Later that morning a woman came to the house identified as a 20 to 30 year old black female weighing around 140 lbs, standing at 5’2 with brown braids stating her name was Keyona. The woman was driving a white or silver Chevy Malibu.

The woman then called her daughter and learned she was at home and unaware of the situation.

The woman immediately called the Hinesville police to report the encounter.
