Every homeowner understands and appreciates the importance of a solid, secure roof over his or her head. To us, a roof is what keeps the rain and snow out. But otherwise, we tend to pay very little attention to what is up there, how long it has been there, and what it is made of, especially when the sun is shining. To a craftsman like Mike Lynch, however, a roof is much more than merely a way to protect a home and its contents from the elements.

Lynch is president of Associate Roofing Inc. of New England, which has been serving the roofing needs of residential and commercial customers since 1932. He is a third-generation roofer, proudly and passionately following in the footsteps - sometimes literally - of both his father and grandfather. And his company has a relentless focus on professional craftsmanship, quality and dependability in a world where those traits can often be in short supply.

Mike himself has been in the business since he was a teenager. His brother, Paul, Associate Roofing’s general manager, has 30 years’ experience of his own. Their 69 year-old dad, a long-time former president of the roofers union, still goes up on roofs, works with his sons occasionally…That is just one indication of the experience that Associate brings to each job…

“We’re all about quality,” Lynch says. “I’m fortunate to have been involved in roofing since the time when it was truly a special trade. We have a lot of respect for the profession and a lot of enthusiasm for what we do.”

“One of our distinguishing characteristics is the emphasis we place on customer education.” Lynch says.
“We encourage potential customers to ask a lot of questions, and really investigate a contractor’s certifications, their license, and the type of work they’ve done. For example, Associate Roofing employs career tradespeople who are licensed and insured at levels that exceed industry standards. That’s a clement of professionalism we’re proud of.”
