Ross Summer Music Theatre Celebrates 63 Years with the Community Theatre Area Premiere of Leap of Faith

Ross Summer Music Theatre proudly presents the Community Theatre Area Premiere of Leap of Faith—the only place in the world to see this musical production this summer! Featuring music by Alan Menken, the legendary composer behind The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Newsies, and Sister Act, Leap of Faith brings an exhilarating night of entertainment inspired by the 1992 Steve Martin film of the same name.

Follow the story of Reverend Jonas Nightingale, a charming con artist and part-time preacher who arrives in a small Kansas town with his revival tent. When the determined Sheriff Marla McGowan tries to protect the townspeople from Jonas's schemes, Jonas's encounter with her and her son sparks a transformation that challenges even the most cynical to take a true leap of faith.

Featuring a soaring gospel and pop-rock score by Alan Menken and lyrics by Glenn Slater, Leap of Faith is a dynamic show where the audience becomes part of the experience, including interactive scenes and even “Jonas Bucks,” which you can use in the production.

Thank you all for your patience during this casting process. Making casting decisions is always one of the hardest—and sometimes most challenging—aspects of producing a show.

We received so many wonderful auditions that we created three different cast lists before carefully rearranging the pieces like a puzzle to assemble the strongest possible cast. We are excited to announce that we have a fantastic group, including a few roles that are double-cast.
