Announcement: 2025 Cast List for Shrek the Musical"
Ross Summer Music Theatre is proud to announce the cast list for "SHREK the Musical"! As I say every year, this is my least favorite part of the entire summer. However, despite the difficulty of the decisions, the auditions were an incredible experience. It was a privilege to hear so many talented individuals. Honestly, I could have triple-cast Shrek and Fiona—there was just that much talent at the auditions.
Some choices were nearly a flip of the coin. I believe the cast we have assembled, in addition to being highly talented, will possess amazing chemistry on stage. As Melinda always says, casting is like putting together a puzzle; you not only consider talent, but also how well individuals read together, how they look on stage, and what combination will create the best show.
After spending a week reviewing our audition videos and seeking honest opinions from impartial viewers, I am confident that we have developed
a cast that will bring the SHREK story to life and delight audiences in NWI.
For those checking the cast list, please be sure to look at the entire list, as many of you are cast in multiple roles. We will see the entire cast and ensemble on Monday, June 2nd, at 6:30 PM. "Announcement: 2025 Cast List for Shrek the Musical"

Ross Summer Music Theatre is proud to announce the cast list for "SHREK the Musical"! As I say every year, this is my least favorite part of the entire summer. However, despite the difficulty of the decisions, the auditions were an incredible experience. It was a privilege to hear so many talented individuals. It's not too late to sign your child up for our Ross Summer Youth Theatre. This is a performance-based learning experience that utilizes theatre techniques to help young people develop essential skills like communication, confidence, and teamwork. Not only will they learn through theatre games and activities, they will put on a show in about 14 rehearsals. Use the included link to register your child and bring your child June 4th to the M door at Merrillville High School. This is for young people ages 8-16 and will meet Monday through Thursday from 12PM till 2 PM, with a performance on June 27th. To everyone who auditioned for Shrek last night, sorry it was a late one. Since there were so many people and we didn’t get to hear all of you read, everyone is called back tonight to read for the parts you are interested in. We will NOT be reading for all the fairytale characters. We are only reading for Gingy and Pinocchio out of that group. After the readings, we may ask some people to sing for the additional parts they auditioned for. We may also ask some of you to sing another selection for said character. ALSO tonight we will hear those that couldn’t make last night. Tonight starts at 6:30 use the backstage door next to the M door and proceed to the choir room.

Sign your young thespian up for this free theatre camp. Registration is Sunday May 25 th at 5:30, where you will get all the required information, including schedules, pick-up and drop-off times, rules and show information . Registration should only take 10-15 minutes. Starting June 4th and continuing until June 27th, we will be running our Summer Youth Theatre program. This year's show is the very entertaining Pirates and Zombies. This is for young people ages 8-16 and will meet Monday through Thursday from 12PM till 2 PM, with a performance on June 27th. The only cost for kids to participate is the cost of tickets for family and friends to see the show. In addition to preparing for the show, we will be doing some theatre games, learning stage terms, and taking a tour of the booths, backstage, and fly system. Kids can sign up May 25th at 5:30 and May 26th at 5:30. Use the M door of Merrillville High School to enter the auditorium.
