Main Street/U.S. Highway 283 in Altus will undergo resurfacing by the Oklahoma Department of Transportation starting next Monday, June 1st.
Work on the project will occur between D Street and East County Road 1580, also known as the “Martha Y” intersection.
The project is expected to last three to four weeks, with schedules, work zones and traffic control plans subject to change. Drivers should expect lane closures and shifting traffic patterns, daytime milling operations, nighttime paving operations, delays near intersections and high-traffic areas, and temporary traffic signal adjustments.
Resurfacing from D Street to Tamarack Road will primarily take place between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. to help reduce disruptions. Crews will work to maintain access to businesses during construction. Drivers are encouraged to use alternative routes.
