⚖️ As part of Attorney General Gentner Drummond’s ongoing fight against the fentanyl crisis, 38-year-old Charles Everett Sewell has been sentenced to 20 years for his role in the 2021 overdose death of Jack Thach of Oklahoma City.
Prosecutors said Sewell acted as a sophisticated drug dealer who knowingly sold fentanyl pills to Thach despite his history of addiction. Oklahoma continues to see devastating increases in fentanyl overdoses, rising from 50 deaths in 2019 to 730 in 2023. The Attorney General’s Office is pushing federal authorities to close trafficking loopholes while distributing opioid settlement funds to communities for treatment and prevention programs.
