A 14 year old Arizona teen is being recognized after his quick thinking may have saved the life of a 75 year old woman with dementia who wandered miles from home in 103 degree heat. Royal Cuthrun was riding his bike when he noticed Theresa Morgan walking alone. He realized something was wrong, guided her into the shade, and helped her remember her son's phone number. Royal stayed with her until her family and emergency responders arrived. Morgan's son later said he believes Royal saved his mother's life.

Royal's actions have earned praise from his family, first responders, and community leaders. Gilbert Fire and Rescue said his compassion protected a vulnerable member of the community during dangerous summer temperatures. The department plans to honor him at a town council meeting on Aug. 11 for his extraordinary actions. His story is a reminder that one person's kindness can make a life changing difference.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup Final will feature one of the most remarkable full circle moments in soccer history. On July 15 Argentina secured its place in the championship match with a 2 to 1 victory over England while Spain advanced a day earlier by defeating France 2 to 0. That sets up a meeting between Lionel Messi and Spain's 19 year old star Lamine Yamal. Nearly 20 years ago Messi unknowingly held Yamal during a charity photo shoot when he was just a baby.

The memorable photos were taken in 2007 as part of a UNICEF charity calendar while Messi was beginning his career with Barcelona. The images resurfaced in 2024 after Yamal emerged as one of the brightest young players in the sport. Photographer Joan Monfort later said no one could have imagined both would become global soccer stars. Now the pair will meet on the biggest stage in the sport as they compete for the 2026 World Cup title.

World Cup fans are finding major discounts on quarterfinal tickets after the United States and Mexico were eliminated from the tournament. According to ticket marketplace TickPick, prices for the expected United States quarterfinal matchup dropped about 65% after the team's loss. Ticket prices connected to Mexico's expected path also fell about 45%. Seats that once cost thousands of dollars are now selling for significantly less. The sharp drop has created an opportunity for fans who were previously priced out of attending the matches.

The early exits have also affected businesses that expected large crowds of American and Mexican supporters. Sports bars that welcomed packed crowds during those matches now expect business to slow for the rest of the tournament. Beer sales continue to climb in many host cities as international fans keep gathering to watch the games. Even with lower ticket prices the World Cup continues drawing strong crowds across the United States. The tournament also continues generating significant economic activity in host cities.
