NATIVE NORTH AMERICAN TRAVELLING COLLEGE TO BE INDUCTED INTO CORNWALL AND AREA ARTS HALL OF FAME

The Cornwall and Area Hall of Fame for the Arts was developed by the Centre for the Arts Collective/le Collectif pour un Centre des Arts in 2015. The Hall of Fame is a key element in the campaign to establish an arts and culture centre for Cornwall and the region. The Hall of Fame will always be a work-in-progress. As it develops it will continue to recapture the brilliant history and achievements of the artistic and cultural movements of the past and showcase the great contemporary work our citizens are contributing locally, nationally and internationally.
The Hall of Fame showcases the significant achievements of patrons, supporters, builders and contributing artists in all the arts: the performing arts (music, theatre and dance), literary arts, visual arts and media arts.

This year, the Native North American Travelling College (NNATC) will be inducted into the Cornwall and Area Hall of Fame for the Arts for their contributions to the arts in the Cornwall area.

Any interested in attending can purchase tickets at the following link:

This is a community announcement from the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Environment Division.

Starting the week of October 20th, environmental remedial work will begin on Garrow Road along the St. Lawrence River. Contractors will be removing old petroleum infrastructure, with large trucks moving in and out of the site. The project is expected to last 3 to 4 weeks. The site will be clearly marked with signs and appropriate measures will be taken to ensure the safety of surrounding homes and businesses.

This project is funded by the USEPA Brownfields Program. For more information, please view the fact sheet on the Tribe's website: http://bit.ly/4nPxBLD.

If you have any questions, please contact Craig Arquette at the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe's Environment Division (518)-358-5937 ext. 5054.

Community Water Quality Advisory – The Raquette River & The St. Regis River

The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe Water Resources Program would like to announce a community-wide advisory for the Raquette River and the St. Regis River.

Recent water quality sampling has shown that Pathogen Indicator Bacteria (PIB) concentrations remain above the SRMT Water Quality Standard for safe primary contact recreation. As a result, swimming or any direct contact with the water is strongly discouraged due to the risk of gastrointestinal illness from ingesting contaminated water.

Additional water sampling is underway. We will continue to give you timely updates as conditions change.

Community health and safety remain our highest priority!
