Today I conducted a tour of the NYC Subway mosaics for a group of New England Mosaic Society members. Here we are in front of one of the new 23rd St. station William Wegman mosaics. Known for his photos of his Weimaraner dogs dressed in human clothing, these mosaics did not disappoint! Look for our next member tour date at the New England Mosaic

I have been addicted to mosaic for some time. My daughter (21 yrs) has done a couple of mosaics when she was younger. She recently had an ankle injury that confined her to the house. I thought some craft therapy would be really good for her. Eventually she asked me if she could use some mdf. She got out to the studio on her crutches and started sketching an elephant. She wanted no help and she created this beautiful piece of work. She doesn't think it is very good!! Let us, all, not be so critical of our own work!!— feeling proud.

I made the red square mirror almost 3 years ago for our guest bathroom. It's been sitting in my studio awaiting grouting since then (I hate grouting). I finally finished it a couple of weeks ago (lockdown has to be good for something, right?)
Then I decided that a round one would look better in the room. I forced myself to grout it immediately so that it didn't suffer the same fate 🙂
