Shoot-edit has been working with Professor Andrew Bateman and Caroline Bald, a social work lecturer at the University of Essex.

Teamed-up with the Packing Shed Theatre, they have developed a stage play which is now being employed to educate social care students about the effects of Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBIs).

“Making Headway” is a stage play which aims to sweep away myths and preconceptions about people who are sometimes dismissed as “that nutter on the bus.” The circumstances behind the behaviour of people who have experienced Traumatic Brain Injuries are complicated and sometimes heartbreaking.

Shoot-edit was invited to the premiere and collect the thoughts of staff and students.

Bleeding Brilliant!

Shoot-edit went to meet British cycling superstar Alex Dowsett with BBC Sport reporter Tom Williams. Alex is shedding blood sweat and tears for “Little Bleeders”, a charity he set up to support young haemophiliacs. Alex and fiancée Chanel are running the London Marathon to raise awareness of the condition where blood in the body is missing a vital ingredient which means blood doesn’t clot. This can limit the types of activity which those with the condition can take part in including contact sports.
