The Vater 9A measures comfortably in between a 5A and 5B in the grip and features a smaller-sized barrel tip for great cymbal clarity and focused drum tones. The short taper gives it a quick feel and rebound. The 9A is available in both Hickory and Sugar Maple.

The Hickory version is the right choice for live and harder-hitting performance settings, while the Sugar Maple version is perfect for more laid-back, subtle playing styles, as well as orchestral and lesson room-type settings.

Big brother to the hugely popular Vater 8A.

Discover the Vater 3A Range

At Vater we continually evaluate, refine, and improve our manufacturing process and capabilities while staying true to the fine art of woodturning. Details include a higher moisture content for striking tools in our raw material for durability, a precise formulation for our classic feeling finish, constant inspections for quality assurance, hand-rolling each stick twice for straightness, and pitch/weight paired by computer analysis. This is true for our range of 3A's.

The Fatback 3A's have been a staple of our range and have been the stick of choice of many drummers and some of our top artists. You’ll definitely want to add these to your stick bag! The StickMate Tambourine slide right on to your stick, brushes and mallets to give you added sound effects while playing, They’re made of lightweight polymer and the low profile won’t interfere with your playing. There’s a cut out in the handle for your thumb to rest in and contact the stick. You can easily put it on and take it off, or tape it on to the grip for extended usage. Patent Pending.

The Matrix measures out as a 5A in the grip with a gradual taper to a small barrel tip for extreme cymbal clarity. A very quick-feeling stick that is great stick for Jazz, Funk and R&B drumming.
