🌟 Staff Feature: Lauren Gann 🌟

This month, we’re celebrating three amazing years with Lauren at the Oklahoma Parents Center! 💚

Lauren uses both her professional expertise and personal experiences to support families of children with disabilities. She holds a B.A. in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology and spent over five years as a Special Education Behavior Coach, specializing in behavior planning and positive interventions. She also has experience in pediatric and adolescent mental health, including both residential and acute psychiatric care settings.

As a former DHS foster parent and adoptive mom to her son with multiple disabilities — and the child of two parents with disabilities — Lauren understands the challenges families face on a deeply personal level. This unique perspective fuels her passion for advocacy, resilience, and building strong support systems.

At OPC, Lauren helps families navigate the IEP and 504 processes, dispute resolutions, and behavior strategies. She also keeps our website and online resources up to date so families can easily access the information they need.

When she’s not working, Lauren loves reading, painting, writing, doing cosmetology projects, and going on outdoor adventures with her chihuahua! 🐾📚🎨

🌟 Partner Spotlight: Allyson Robinson🌟

We’re thrilled to celebrate our partnership with Allyson, a dedicated leader making a difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities across Oklahoma! 💛

Allyson serves as a Director for the Oklahoma State University (OSU) Department of Wellness Sponsored Programs, where she oversees all Accessibility Programs, including Oklahoma ABLE Tech — the state’s Assistive Technology (AT) Act Program. Through her leadership, individuals of all ages and in all environments statewide gain access to the tools and support they need to thrive.

Her work also extends to programs like the Special Education Resolution Center (SERC) and the Oklahoma Rehabilitation Council (ORC), providing vital resources to both K-12 students and adults preparing for or already part of Oklahoma’s workforce. Additionally, Allyson supports OSU’s Student Accessibility Services, ensuring students receive the accommodations and opportunities they deserve.

With a strong background in speech pathology and assistive technology, Allyson has dedicated over 13 years to OSU. She even spent nine of those years teaching Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) to graduate students, shaping the next generation of professionals. Before joining OSU, she served children ages 3–18 as a speech-language pathologist at Pawnee Public Schools.

💛 We absolutely love being partners with Allyson here at the Oklahoma Parents Center. Her passion, leadership, and dedication to improving accessibility and opportunity for all make her an incredible advocate and ally for families across Oklahoma.
