This weekend, our team proudly joined thousands of walkers and runners at the 2025 Komen Northwest Ohio Race for the Cure in downtown Toledo. It was an inspiring morning filled with hope, strength, and community.

A special moment for our team: JR from Midwest Tape was thrilled to meet Chrys Peterson, beloved Toledo 11 anchor and longtime emcee of the Race for the Cure. Chrys has been the voice of this event for an incredible 32 years, and her dedication continues to uplift and unite our community.
We walk for survivors, for fighters, and for a future without breast cancer. 💗

We 💕 our team!

Last week, Midwest Tape employees laced up for our very own onsite walk 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️ in support of the Komen Northwest Ohio Race for the Cure 🎀

This year, 65 employees joined the walk, raising over $2,000 — and with our company match, we’ll be donating a little over $4,200 to the Komen Foundation 💗🙌

We’ve proudly supported this cause for 17 years, and we’re so grateful to Janet Timm, who has led our company walk from the very beginning. This was her final year as team captain, and she’s passing the torch to our Social Committee with lots of love 💞

Meet Cory Hrycko, Lead Web Developer at Midwest Tape | Hoopla Digital! 🎉

Cory said his favorite part about working here is seeing how our read-along technology impacts children's literacy worldwide. Building front-end systems with precise timing synchronization for each word is technically challenging but incredibly fulfilling. Knowing that a child anywhere in the world sees a word light up at the moment they hear it spoken helps bridge the connection between written and spoken language. The intersection of technical precision and educational impact drives me every day. We’re not just building software—we’re creating tools that help kids develop reading fluency, confidence, and a love for books. Whether I’m architecting TypeScript systems for microsecond-level timing or optimizing React components for seamless audio-text synchronization, I’m always thinking about that moment when a struggling reader gets it because our technology helped them make that connection.

Cory’s manager shared that he brings a consistently positive attitude and a genuine enthusiasm to his work—especially noticeable during our Hoopla scrum demos, where he always takes time to spotlight the great work of his team. He’s not only a front-end expert but also brings a strong understanding of back-end services and systems, making him a well-rounded and collaborative team member.
