For those who asked … Here’s the recipe for sweet dill pickle chips:

Ingredients
* 4 cups pickling cucumbers, sliced into rounds or spears
* 1 cup apple cider vinegar
* 3/4 cup granulated sugar
* 1/2 cup water
* 2 tablespoons pickling or kosher salt
* 3-4 sprigs fresh dill w**d
* 2 cloves garlic, smashed (optional)
* 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
* 1 teaspoon celery seeds

Instructions
* Wash and slice the cucumbers and place them cleanly into a large jar with the fresh dill and garlic.
* Combine the apple cider vinegar, water, sugar, salt, mustard seeds, and celery seeds in a small pot.
* Heat the mixture over medium heat until the sugar and salt completely dissolve.
* Remove the hot brine from the heat and let it cool for a few minutes.
* Pour the warm brine over the cucumbers in the jar until they are fully covered.
* Let the jar cool uncovered on the counter, then put the lid on tightly and place it in the refrigerator.
* Wait at least 24 hours before eating for the best sweet dill flavor.

Our veterinarian came to the farm today to see Cheyenne. She’s now vaccinated against rabies.
Because we live in Minnesota and rabies is very prevalent in the skunk population here, we decided she needed this protection from the recent skunk visit to our farm.
Do you vaccinate your horses and other livestock for rabies?
