I knew exactly where I wanted my foils to go (RIP Dory…always buy extras & return what you don’t use😩), and because they were pretty large compared to the size of the garland, their placement needed to be intentional.
I also knew exactly where this garland was going in the client’s home—and that information helped me determine the shape before I ever started adding details.
I wasn’t just thinking about where will the balloons fit? I was thinking about:
✨ Where will the foils sit best?
✨ What shape enhances the space + photo op?
✨ How can I make setup as easy as possible?
✨ Where do I need dimension so a smaller garland still has BIG impact?
This is why I always say: ask questions. The more information you gather before you build, the more control you have over the final result.
And those clear bubbles! I treat them almost like an 18” round foil. Instead of putting them front-facing, I tie them off to the side so they act more like a spray floral stem vs. a bushy floral piece. They extend the shape and add dimension without interrupting the flow or stealing the show.
Small garland ≠ small impact.
Oh! And let’s talk pricing because I know someone will ask 👀
I like to keep grab & go balloon garlands as affordable as I can. This one has 14 clusters, or roughly 14 feet of balloons.
At my standard rate of $25/ft for pickup or $35/ft onsite, that puts a garland this size around $350–$500, BEFORE specialty upgrades like the foils + bubbles.
Your rates may be completely different than mine—and that’s okay—but bottom line? I personally wouldn’t charge less than $250 for something like this.
