Over 900 musical scale names reduced to 69 scale patterns showing all the names to each mode of each scale. 25 of these scales have no documented names.

When Bach created even temperament, he made it possible to transpose. He also made it possible to represent scales in a binary format.

I wanted to know “ALL” my scales and nothing I saw was satisfactory. I have seen scales represented in many ways.

Key signature doesn’t tell you the whole story.
C-major & A-minor would show the same.
The same scale in different keys show very different sharps & flats pattern. Can be very confusing.

You also have whole step, half step method. But it’s still linear and you still can’t see the scale for what it is.

While a linear binary pattern gets us close, a circular really helps it land.
