Holly Springs Police Arrest Suspect in Ting Park Assault
Within 24 hours of an assault at Ting Park, Holly Springs police make an arrest. Detectives with the Holly Springs Police Department, with the assistance of the Wake County Sheriff’s Office, located Jose Manuel Hernandez Rodriguez, in Johnston County, NC earlier today and placed him under arrest.
Yesterday, January 22, 2024, at 1:33pm, the Holly Springs Police Department responded to a shooting that occurred in the parking lot of Ting Park, located at 101 Sportsmanship Drive Holly Springs, NC. Upon arrival, officers found the adult male victim in a car suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Through the course of the investigation, Holly Springs detectives learned that the victim and suspect, identified as Jose Manuel Hernandez Rodriguez, arranged to meet at Ting Park regarding an ongoing personal dispute. The victim was suddenly assaulted as he waited in his vehicle and was shot through the passenger side window by Rodriguez, who then fled the scene. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he is in stable condition.
The public should be assured that this was an isolated incident and that there is no ongoing threat to the community. Rodriguez has been transported to the Wake County Detention Center and is being charged with the following:

Discharging a Firearm into Occupied Property
Discharging a Firearm in the City Limits
