Not only is this first public meeting being held about the proposed xAI power plant, but MDEQ data shows the plant will release over 80 times more pollution into the atmosphere then is recommended by current guidelines, and is considerably more than the TVA plant in the area. **JUST IN FROM HS- Notice to Residents: Major Power Outage**

The City of Holly Springs is currently experiencing a major power outage affecting residents and businesses in the West and South areas of Holly Springs.

The outage is due to damage at a local electrical substation. Utility crews are on site and working to assess the damage and restore service as quickly and safely as possible.

At this time, a full restoration estimate is not available. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.

Residents are advised to:

* Use caution at intersections where traffic signals may be out
* Avoid downed power lines and report them immediately
* Limit travel if possible until power is restored

We appreciate your patience and understanding during this disruption.

We have just been informed that there is a downed aircraft in the area just south of Holly Springs airport in Marshall County MS., just of I-22 in the area of Bishop Road. No further details at this time, but will update once we know more.
