Aggravated Assault Arrest in Tupelo Shooting
TUPELO, Miss. - On Sunday, September 21, Tupelo Police officers responded to reports of a shooting at Holland’s Bar and Grill, 3952 North Gloster Street.
When officers arrived, they found two men in the parking lot with gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to North Mississippi Medical Center for treatment. Responding officers quickly identified a suspect, who was located nearby and taken into custody.
Following further investigation, detectives charged Chance M. Brown (24, Tupelo) with two counts of aggravated assault. On Monday, September 22, Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Weir ordered Brown held without bond. The case will be presented to the Lee County Grand Jury.

Two construction updates that will affect traffic:

Crews will be working on South Lamar, between Oxford Way and Belk Drive, beginning tonight at 10:00 P.M., September 22nd, until 6:00 A.M. tomorrow, September 23rd. Traffic will be restricted to one lane through this area while the work is taking place. Please use extreme caution when traveling through this area and choose an alternate route, if possible. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Engineering Department at 662-232-2306.

Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive will be closed to through traffic tomorrow, September 23rd, between 8:30 A.M. and 12:00 P.M. while crews work to install a water main connection to the new Lafayette County Jail building. Please choose an alternate route.
