• Increased Costs: The 25% tariff will directly raise the cost of importing Japanese vehicles, making them more expensive for U.S. consumers. This price hike could deter enthusiasts and collectors from purchasing JDM cars, potentially reducing their presence in the U.S. market.
• Economic Implications for Japan: Japan’s economy, heavily reliant on automobile exports, may face challenges due to decreased demand from the U.S. Experts estimate that such tariffs could reduce Japan’s GDP by up to 0.2% over two years.
