American Nightmare’s legendary Year One collection on 180 gram vinyl for its 25th anniversary.

Originally released in 2001, the Boston hardcore band’s 25th anniversary release of Year One pays tribute to their formative years. This collection unites their first two 7”s, originally released by Bridge 9 Records founder and then-roommate Chris Wrenn, on a 180-gram LP, with all tracks recorded by Kurt Ballou at God City. Originally designed by Jake Bannon (Converge), this edition has been reimagined by Del Jae (Futurismo Records) and Wesley Eisold, and comes packaged in a gatefold with an insert of handwritten lyrics and collaged images.

Year One doesn’t just celebrate a milestone; it reaffirms American Nightmare’s enduring legacy. Their music raised the bar for emotional depth in hardcore, adding a distinctly poetic and existential lyrical approach that set them apart and changed the rules of the scene, paving the way for countless bands that followed. The result was something harder, darker, and more emotionally resonant than anything the scene had yet produced. They pushed hardcore into uncharted territory, borrowing influences from youth crew, street punk, and even the aesthetics of the late-’90s mod revival and Britpop cultures. The fusion created a new blueprint—fast, traditional hardcore delivered with dire, venomous lyrics that demanded a visceral crowd response. Their impact was immediate, and their influence continues to reverberate.

Statue of Heaven is a new hardcore project from Wesley Eisold that channels the same urgency as American Nightmare and Some Girls, but with a stripped-back, colder tone. Hung From Rope... delivers seven tracks of raw, blackened hardcore, pairing minimal, poetic lyrics with musical influences drawn from 80s punk and mid-90s metallic hardcore. The record explores sanctity and purity against the backdrop of a dystopian, existential present haunted by a moral void.

This release includes the four songs from the demo cassette plus three new tracks.
Available on limited edition white marble vinyl with a zine insert of handwritten lyrics & images.

The modern world is a shrine to death
Spirit imprisoned til there’s nothing left
Disguised as progression and sold off as virtue
The prison of sadness will never desert you

Wesley Eisold’s Cigarette Magazine Issue 3 continues the series as a visual archive of subcultures that rarely shared space but always shared a spirit. It collects fragments from scenes that too often passed each other by: punks, goths, mods, hardcore kids, and others who lived on the edges. Every page is a kind of daydream. This issue brings them together in one imagined document.

Cigarette Issue 2 available now.

Cigarette Issue 2 deepens the burn as a document of subcultural telepathy. It’s a hallucinatory collage of underground music and the aesthetics that haunt it. Drawn from a life spent in basements, back rooms, and record store daydreams, this issue connects the dots between punk, hardcore, goth, synth, and rock ’n’ roll — not just through sound, but through the visual and emotional debris left behind.

Band flyers rot into fashion ads. Mailorder adverts dissolve into love letters. Pages hum with the psychic tension between defiance and desire and imaginary flyers— where chains meet lace, and eyeliner meets blood. This is where Madball shares a bill with The Softies and Hanatarash jams Scott Walker at the Limelight.

It’s a mix-tape in paper form: Xeroxed, torn, and collaged with obsessive care. Grainy photo cutouts, scrawled lyrics, demo tape inserts, tabloid curses, and tender fragments of underground longing — all stitched together in a visual language only lifers understand.

Cigarette Magazine - Issue 1

A smudged love letter to the underground, Cigarette Magazine is a new collage art zine from Wesley Eisold — a visceral splice of subculture memory, fashion debris, and Xerox damage.

We are excited and honored to announce the signing of Rosa Anschütz to Heartworm Press.

Anschütz is a Berlin musician and sound artist who blends the dark ambiance of post-punk and cold wave with ethereal polyphony and synth-driven melodies. Her voice and words are captivating, poetic, and other worldly.

Her forthcoming album Sabbatical will be out September 26th via Heartworm.

Releasing records by other artists in addition to books is an exciting chapter for Heartworm.
It is a divergence and a coming together. An artist for artist approach where we can apply our independent ethos and involve our fan base in our deepest interests.
