Getting acknowledged for doing what I love was never a priority of mine. It is truly an honor nonetheless to be recognized for years as an dj/entertainer in south Florida as it means more than I can put into words.
This journey has been filled with late nights, early mornings, sacrifices, and moments that tested my spirit, but also many moments of pure magic that reminded me why I love what I do.
I want to thank everyone that has supported me throughout my journey , my friends , my family, and everyone who believed in my talent even on the days I doubted myself. My first mentor, the legendary Clint O’Neil from WLRN radio (RIP) and my brother Roy- popularly known as Artboy or The Artist , were a big part of my career and the direction I took in my early years. Them, amongst many others, all pushed me to grow, to create, and to keep showing up with passion. A passion that also lead me to songwriting , record production and event promotion.
After 36 years as a dj , I’ve been bless to share the stage with many super talented Dj’s and artists and travel all around the world .
As a record producer and songwriter I’ve been blessed to meet, write, produce and built great friendships with many artists I could’ve only dreamt of meeting when I first fell in love with our culture and music.
This award is a reminder that the work matters, the love and passion matters, and the journey is never really over. Thanks to all my supporters over the years.
Most importantly, I’m humbled and grateful to the audiences who let me share my art with them over the years. You’re the reason any of this is possible. You’re the reason I can’t really retire even if I wanted to.
It’s not about what I do — it’s about who I can uplift, inspire, motivate and make feel good along the way.
Thank you team and the for this incredible honor.”
God bless you all 🙏🏾.
