The Empire struck back on Long Island!

Troopercon 2026 brought out more than 30 members of the 501st Legion Empire City Garrison, along with Jedi, Mandalorians, Jawas, clones, rebels and plenty of Star Wars fans for a day that felt less like a polished comic con and more like an old-school celebration of fandom.

Organizer and 501st Legion ECG CO Justin Weiss said the second Troopercon "by far trumped the first" and that the group is starting to understand what the event can become.

"We started something here," Weiss said.

There is another: Troopercon will return in 2027!

TrooperCon strikes back!

The Star Wars convention returns to Hicksville on Sunday, Sept. 13, with free admission, screen-accurate costumes, Jedi training, panels, a costume runway, photo ops, raffles and more.

Fans can meet members of the 501st Legion, Rebel Legion, Saber Guild and Mando Mercs Costume Club, while Blast-A-Trooper and raffle proceeds will benefit Cohen Children’s Medical Center.

And there may even be a Wampa lurking around.

🎙️ Sometimes voice actors have to make big choices on the fly.

Voltron voice actors Kimberly Brooks, who played Princess Allura, and Josh Keaton, who voiced Shiro, talk about getting scripts at the last minute and having to make bold decisions about how to bring those scenes to life.

Brooks, who also voices several characters on South Park, including Classi and Linda Black, says that kind of last-minute creativity is especially common on the show, where scripts can come together very close to recording time. 🎭🎬

The two shared the behind-the-scenes stories during the 10th anniversary celebration of Netflix’s Voltron: Legendary Defender at Tropic Con 2026 on Long Island.

💙🌀 So long, and thanks for all the Who!

After more than a decade of companions, cosplay, panels and friendships, L.I. Who has wrapped its final full convention before heading into hiatus.

📸 Members of the L.I. Who Fans group started sharing “first Who, last Who” photos, while others reflected on friendships that lasted for years and, in one case, a romance that began at the convention and led to marriage. ❤️

Showrunner Ken Deep said the friendships made over the years were the most satisfying result of the event.

The convention may be taking a break, but as any Doctor Who fan knows, you never really know where the TARDIS will land next. 🚪✨
