From the Woods is a musical collective led by Adam Braunschweig based in Western Massachusetts.

They performed for this new season of "Canal Walk Series" the song “Canal digger’s lament".

In Adam's words, "this song is from a new album of original music that TJ (Terrence Ezold, multi-instrumentalist) and I just recorded; a collection of songs with themes inspired by the 1800s. “Canal digger’s lament” is from the perspective of someone who’s been digging the Holyoke canals, which were dug by hand, and taking pride in his work and the daily grind that allows the city to change and grow".

New England Media Lab is an online free media platform. The idea is to feature and promote the work of artists and creators in this region.

Today, we are featuring the singer-songwriter, Kimaya Diggs. ”Letting go" was recorded Gateway City Arts for our Radioplasma Music Sessions. In her words, this song "is a meditation on the links between the women in my family."

We have a virtual tip jar on our website: https://newenglandmedialab.com/

All tips will be split 50/50 between the artists.

We are finally putting our website live. This week we feel lucky to feature Eavesdrop.

All our content is made with love and caring. It includes a voluntary "virtual tip jar" so both artists or makers and we could get some compensation. Of course, the most important contribution is counting with your support spreading the word out.

See you when we can see you.

We have been pushing this independent content platform for a few months with a group of excellent professionals. The idea is to feature artists and creators in this region.

Tonight I wanted to share with you this beautiful song from Eavesdrop, ”If we part”. It was recorded in one take in a public space with the intention to capture its intimate and emotional power.

We are passing the hat for Eavesdrop and us via Venmo: (all tips will be split 50/50)

Hope you enjoy it.

Mia Lloyd and Mia Huggs -Mica- defied a rainy and windy day by Holyoke Canal Walk. Perhaps the perfect natural environment their song “January 1”. The Plan Holyoke gave us shelter and for that, we are deeply in gratitude.

Makers like Sarah Peck find a way to solve problems differently. Inspired by her love of baroque music, Peck muscled her way into the world of lutherie. She envisions herself as the “Jacques Cousteau” of violin and viola de gamba repair: hands on and up close where she can see the instruments tick.

The soulful harmonies from the Americana band, Eavesdrop, couldn't sound more beautiful on a bridge above the Holyoke Canal. In a raw, one-shot, live performance, Eavesdrop makes clear how a good song can be on its basic intimate form.
